I am asking everyone to RSVP online as well. I am acutally using the free wedding website through the knot. I found very easy to use. I uploaded my guest list directly to the website. So far no issues.
Just curious, because I haven't really set up a website yet, but can guests see who else was invited or accepted? And can uninvited people see who was invited? I am already dealing with friends of friends who heard I am planning a wedding in New Orleans and have pretty much invited themselves!
I password protected my website and put the password on my save the dates. I had too many people who would invite themselves and I didn't want them to know all the details.
Using theknot.com, when you press "rsvp" on the wedding website, it asks you for the name. If you put in John Smith and he's not on the list, he would have to self enter his name for the bride and groom. If John Smith is on the list you imported, then his name will show up with RSVP "y" or "n" next to this name.
I do have a question for those of you who used theknot.com and your wedding website to have guests RSVP. I imported my guest list, but needed to make revisions. I imported the new list, but the old one didn't delete. So now, all my names are on the list twice. It's quite frustrating. There's a button that says "reset list" but it won't work. Any suggestions?
I'm using weddingwire.com for my budget, guest list, RSVP, and wedding website. It sounds like it's similar to the knot. It is password protected, and in order to RSVP, guests have to enter their names. If they're not listed as an invited guest, they can't RSVP.
We are using Wedding Window for our RSVPs. It isn't free but it has a ton of great planning tools and other features so we went with that one. Plus we got to pick our own domain name rather than use the one that is given by the other sites. The RSVP feature appears to be similar to those listed above and you are able to password protect (though we chose not to). If your name isn't searchable on the website (as an invited guest) you can't RSVP - plain and simple.
