How far in advance of the wedding do I need to/should I request the permit?  Also, is it still Lt. Valiente?

I think about a month or 6 weeks prior to your date, but be aware that they won't even look at the request til like 2 weeks out, maybe less. The department is super seamed and it's just one guy. I wound up paying in person and getting the paperwork the Friday before our Sunday wedding.
