Police Escorts

I have to use a NOPD and Jefferson Parish to escort my wedding from the church on Canal st to The Balcony. I spoke with NOPD and they said I don't have to call until 5 days before the event.... is this normal? has anyone else had to use the police escort to move the wedding from the Ceremony to the Reception?

I am using one to take me from N.O to J.P. and yes, this is sort of common.

That's crazy! I called this morning left a message and they didn't answer nor return my phone call. .so I called again after lunch. Five days before the wedding I will be freaking out about so may other things and would not want to worry about booking police escorts. . oh well I'll just pray that it will be a smooth process

You may have to delegate the task to your parents. For me we had a "hook-up" but my mother is taking care of the arrangements because I know it will be the last thing I want to worry about.

Yeah I will. . My MOH is from Chicago and would have no clue who to call or the details of the locations. Thank you everyone for your comments!!!
