What are the restaurants and bars that we need to go to?
Pat O'Bryans and the House of Blues are what we hear about.  I like the little hole in the wall eateries, as they are the flavor of any area...

    For bars, I suggest Lafitte's, Fritzel's, R Bar, Mimi's in the Marigny and The John. There's obviously a million restaurants but from what you described, I'd say Feelings for a romantic dinner and JaquesImo's for a fun meal with amazing food you've never seen before. Cake cafe has amazing shrimp and grits during breakfast hours. Cochon is also really great, I've been there for lunch. ETA: if you are there on a Tuesday, I would do Jacque Imo's for dinner and then go to the Maple Leaf bar next door and watch Rebirth play. Doesn't get better than that.
