November weather

I am looking to plan a wedding down there next year around this time... Wondering what the weather is typically like this time of year?

Re: November weather

  • I hate to tell you but November in NOLA is almost impossible to predict. It could be like today and 80 degrees out or it may be in the 50s for a high and down in the 30s for the low.

  • Oh wow! Thanks for the info!
  • Yeah, I got married on Nov. 3. There was a near record high of 83 that day, which kind of worried me but it ended up being a really nice temperature in the evening so it was great. But the next day it poured buckets, the day after that it drizzled on and off throughout the day, and the day after that it was COLD and gray. My whole wedding was contingent on good weather (garden ceremony, courtyard cocktail hour, second line parade and balcony seating at reception), so all I can do is count my blessings. You just never know. November can be beautiful, and hopefully it will be for your wedding, but always have a back-up plan for the weather!

I would suggest october because it's less likely to be rainy than November, or i'd suggest waiting until December since the temperature will be a little more predictable than November. But, if you aren't worried about rain, then stick with November, but i would just steer clear of an outdoor reception and then you wont have to worry about rain or temp unpredictability.
