hotel to spend honeymoon in New Orleans

where can hubby and i spend a nice romantic (and affordable) night in the new orleans area?

Re: hotel to spend honeymoon in New Orleans

  • Omni Royal and Windsor Court both have nice romance packages, but can be a bit pricey. (not sure on your budget)

Others that are in the French Quarter and cheaper
    - Royal Sonesta
    - Chateau Bourbon
    - Monteleone

Nice, reasonable hotel in the back of the French Quarter
    - Le Richeleu

    Hope that helps!

  • I've stayed at the Prince Conti and the French Market Inn and thought they were both very affordable. These hotels will give you an old New Orleans feel, and not have maybe all the amenities that a larger, more expensive hotel will. Good luck!

  • I defnitely recommend the International House on Camp Street.  It's a quirky boutique Hotel, 2 blocks off Canal Street, close enough to the Quarter, but still far rnough away.  And Loa is one of the best bars in the city.  I find the rates very reasonable.  It's where I stay whenever I am home.

We stayed at the International House Hotel for our mini-moon. It was nice, the bed was amazingly comfy. Or I was amazingly exhausted, hahaa.

I actually prefer the smaller, older courtyard style places like the St Pierre or The Frenchman, both in great locations. The Prince Conti is nice and very budget friendly. I would also consider a B&B. My sister got a great room at the Maison Marigny and it was really nice at a great price.
