cantor?

Is is necessary to have a cantor for a full Catholic mass?  I'm thinking of just having a violin and cello.  What do yall think?

I would think the church would require you to have a cantor to lead the singing during Mass and likely provide one or give you a choice of one of theirs. Have you checked to see if it is optional?

I'm pretty sure a cantor is a must.

Unless you don't have any music during the Mass (and everything is spoken, like smaller churches do when they do not have musicians), you will need a cantor to sing the sung parts of the Mass.
