Napoleon House?

Does anyone have any insight to Napoleon House. It seems to be one of the most affordable wedding venues in the French Quarter. I am concerned that its price point may be lower due to quality of venue.

Any thoughts?

Re: Napoleon House?

  • I haven't been to a wedding there yet, but I paid $67/person at Pigeon, which was inclusive of tax and gratuity.  That included open bar, carving station, shrimp & grits station, passed hors d'oeuvres, cheese and fruit display, gumbo and a salad.

I guess it would require you to find a venue that allows you to bring in an outside caterer, but I think you can definitely get a better deal.
  • I visited there as an option for the RD and we were less than impressed with their food/bev options.  I liked the space very much, but the set up wasn't working for us and they didn't seemed interesting in helping us figure out any alternatives to accomodate what we wanted.  They were also inflexible with the menu and pricing.  That was a concern to me so we moved on.

  • From what I remember, the space at NH was upstairs, and they don't have an elevator -- just something to think about if you have older/disabled guests.
  • We wanted to have our rehersal dinner there, but yea, as someone else said, no elevator and we have several handicapped guests. as far as the restautrant itself goes, it's one of my favorites. It's my finace and my date night spot! The courtyard is beautiful...

  • We looked at it but it was just too small for us. And it did look a little...dated
  • We looked there as well, and though we liked the idea of the Napoleon House, we found the two rooms upstairs too divided for us (we wanted one room), and as efferson said, a little 'dated' as well.
