Vendor availability in January?

We need to plan another Nola trip to find a caterer, band and lighting.

I was thinking January might be a good month to do this. It's a little late in the timeline, but obv not going to go during the holidays, and it will still be before Mardi Gras.

Anyone know if this is a good, "slower" time for vendors??

Januray is the 2nd slowest month for vendors in New Orleans. August is the slowest.

March, April and October are the busiest.

October 23rd is also one of the busiest wedding days of the year. If you don't have a band booked yet, you might have a hard time finding one. I'd start on that ASAP or look into bringing a band from an outside area into NOLA.

Yes, because on Sundays a lot of the bands are booked for NFL and block parties.

I'm getting married on a Sunday in May (like October, also peak wedding time) and haven't had any trouble at all booking popular vendors. =) I am sure that you'll be fine.  There are oodles and oodles of great bands here.

May is not a peak wedding month in New Orleans. October is the month. 1/4 of  all New Orleans weddings take place in October.  March is the 2nd busiest. April is the 3rd. September is 4th and May is 5th.  I know this due to working in the hotel industry in New Orleans for about 9 years.

When I started looking, I had found May and October were most popular (I think bc of the weather, 2nd least amount of precipitation). But, who knows.

Thanks for the info, I hope you are right NOLAbride, we are excited for our next trip!

Haha, so true.  Lived in St. Bernard my whole life.  April/early May and October are the only months with decent wedding weather in NO, haha.  Summer is way too hot and humid.
