Merideth Reed

Frustrated because she is being so flaky about returning my calls and emails.  She has very reasonable prices, but she does not seem reliable.  Is she having an off week or should I run for the hills?

Her prices are reasonable, so I guess this kind of comes with the territory. Try contacting her through her facebook page.

Not sure how long you have been experiencing this with her, but I can say that a lot of my vendors have been on vacation and now we are getting into their busy wedding season, so my response time has been a lot slower across the board lately. Luckily, my wedding is a long way off, so I can afford to be patient (right now!). Good luck.

I've talked with her this week over e-mail. She's always responded to me very quickly.

I know she was on vactation for a while and then her email was having problems so that might be why she hasn't been as timely answering emails for ya. She is usually pretty quick answering my emails and I've only had one or two times where she took a while to get back. Also, she has weddings on the weekend so I'm sure that slows down her response time... Try getting ahold of her on facebook and just address your concerns with her. I wouldn't run for the hills just yet. She is super nice and really easy to work with so I would give her a second chance!

Basically I emailed her for information last week and this Tuesday evening she replied to say that she had been really busy, but would like to set up a time to meet asap.  I replied that I was an OOT bride, but would love to schedule a time to talk on Wednesday.  No response on Wednesday, I left a voicemail on Thursday and haven't heard back at all.  Maybe I'm being too persistent, but I kind of expected her to at least set up a time when she could talk.  It's kind of annoying to see that she is updating her facebook page and such.

I may just be better off hiring another coordinator.

That would aggravate me too. Maybe give her until after the holiday weekend (and the storm) before looking for someone else. Not sure what your budget is, but I am using Kelly Sherlock as my planner. She's been great. Can't say enough good things about her.

@danninola- I don't know if you know this but vendors aren't actually allowed to post on theknot boards... Also, I'm not sure who on this thread is a fake bride? I can assure you I am not one of Meredith's "fake brides" and you can go through all my posts to see that I am an actual bride who has used and continues to use theknot to help me find trusted vendors, ideas, etc.  I am from Utah and having a destination wedding in New Orleans so obviously I am not friends with Meredith other than becoming friends with her through the planning process because she has been such a great help to me. She is actually only my "month of" coordinator and she has gone above and beyond the standards I have for a "month of" coordinator. I think it is very unproffessional for a vendor to come on the boards and trash another vendor. I would never use a planner that I knew did stuff like that and I hope you will recondsider your practices.

Anyways, I am a real bride and I don't post on here as often as I used to because I find the chat features at weddingbee to be a little more user friendly, but I am constantly on the New Orleans board because I can get lots of good advice from other Brides. So... yeah... lol

I emailed Merideth last night after seeing this post and all the positive comments and she emailed me back with information early this morning. I don't know about you guys, but that's the kind of vendor I like. Some vendor's respond a week later or not at all. It definitely put her at the top of my list.

I'm new here and this seems more like cat fighting instead of being informational. I mean really who cares? Everyones experiences are different I'm sure. Negative reviews or great reviews won't make my mind up only the vibe I get from each vendor I interview will.

I completly agree. I think when another vendor boldly gets on a board their not even suppose to be on bashing other vendors and wont reveal their self is so tacky. Accusing brides of being fakes is even more tacky. I don't post here very often either because I have a life but a fake bride I am not! Ask my declining bank account. I posted about my planner on a discussion does that make me a fake? If a bride past/present wants to boast about their vendor then let them. I am going to ask about photographers and if I get 10 reviews on one "awesome" vendor am I suppose to believe their posting about themselves. @Daninola Whats the name of your company?  @Natbug I think I'll take your suggestion on weddingbee

I didn't mean to cause so much drama, but was really just looking for honest reviews.

I'm sure lots of you have had great experiences with her, but I just don't think she is going to be a good fit for me.

She was my wedding planner, and while it was easy to get in-touch with her before my wedding, she still has something from my wedding that's very important to me.  She said that she would ship it, but she never did and now she won't answer my calls or e-mails for the past 2 months.

@citybayougirl - Welcome to the Knot :) I honestly wasn't trying to be catty I just didn't appreciate being called a fake bride by another vendor on this board. It looks like her comments have since been erased so now my comment looks kinda dumb up there by itself lol.  Vensors just aren't allowed to post on the knot and I just wanted to make sure everyone knew my experience was real and not made up! I come on here looking for valuable advice and I know others do too so I want to make sure my advice is honest and will actually help someone! I agree with you though. Meeting a vendor and getting a feel for them paired with word of mouth is really a great way to choose your vendors.

@louisianablue- You didn't cause any drama :)  I know there are lots of other posts on this board about planners and there are a lot of good reviews on Nola Bash and a few others. You should try reading through those and hopefully you'll find someone!!

@MaggieB83- Ugh! That sucks!! I'm sorry that happened :( You should try her facebook!

    DO NOT USE THIS PLANNER!!!!!!

I sent her a deposit check over a week ago.  The check was cashed and I have not heard from her since.  No response to any emails or phone calls.

Any recommendations for a New Orleans wedding planner would be appreciated!
