Louisiana-New Orleans

need inexpensive yet good caterer

Budget wedding with 150 guests at Race and Religious venue.  Doesn't have to be the traditional New Orleans dishes that you typically find, but I also don't want frozen food that is thawed out served.  Any suggestions?
We are looking at Third World Nola, aka Woodie the taco fish guy.  Anyone used him?

Thanks.

My sis-in-law booked La Maison Creole. She said the food she tried from them was amazing and I think their prices are crazy good. Also check out Capdeboscq Catering.

I also suggest Capdeboscq Catering.  We loved the food at our tasting.  Their pricing is very reasonable, and I feel like you get more food for your money.  Good luck!

This will sound odd but try the City Diner in Metairie. The chef was with te Landmark Hotel. They created a wonderful menu for us including vegetarian and gluten free options under $20 pp.

I second Capdeboscq Catering.  Old company based on the Westbank.  Owner is at the tasting and talking to him feels like talking to your grandpaw.

I highly recommend Leah, with Pigeon catering. She is very flexible and has put together a menu with many options on my stretched budget!  And she's a DOLL to work with, Also, when you schedule your tasting, they serve you EVERYTHING you will have at your wedding... so no surprises (even down to the carved meat). Go hungry, I rolled out of there!

    this is their website: http://www.pigeoncaterers.com/

Capdebosq are really sweet, nice people, but I found a lot of their appetizers to be really salty and the presentation pretty sloppy. However, we were only given appetizers at the tasting so I can't comment on the entree options.

    Good luck!

My daughter has chosen the same place for her wedding. What caterer did you end up going to?
