first dance song?

One of the songs that is pretty high on my list of choices for our first dance song was used by one of FI's friends last summer at his wedding. Does anyone have an opinion on using the same song? I really like the song, but I'm not sure if that's weird to use the same one. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

I think the only people that would remember would be the couple. I think if you mention it to them (if you are worried) you would be fine. FI and I have been to half a dozen weddings together and I couldn't tell you what songs most of them did. So I really think you should just mention it to the other couple if you are worried, but other guests won't mind or think much of it.

I think it is fine. While you can choose any song, there are definitely songs that are commonly use for special dances, etc.  As long as it holds a special meaning for your and your new husband, you are perfectly fine. I doubt your friend will be upset.

I agree with pp's. I don't think there is anything wrong with using the song. And it's a great song! Love Dave Matthews!

I agree with all of the PP too.  It is your and your fh's day so pick a song that is meaningful to you!  It shouldn't matter if someone else has used it before :-)
