Hi brides - My fiancee and I want to take engagement photo's in City Park but are wondering do we REALLY need to get a permit. Any thoughts? Are there other locales in NOLA that enforce permits and those that don't - we would prefer a garden space.

    I don't know but your photographer should probably know whether a permit is needed and be able to give advice on nice garden settings and Places they've shot engagement photos before.

    We took photos in City Park.  I didn't realize that we needed a permit and my photographer didn't mention anything.  I'm assuming that if you get caught, you'll get a fine.  They are definitely more strict about Jackson Square, so I paid for a permit when we took our wedding photos there.

    You can always use Audubon park if you don't want to worry about it.  I don't think you need a permit there.
