Glamour Therapy

Hi ladies,

I'm relatively new to the makeup artistry thing. I enjoy the salon experience but occasionally I get sticker shock with the pricing. I received glowing recommendations on Glamour Therapy - can someone vouch for their $155 hair/makeup wedding day beauty? Are my bridesmaids going to balk at that price? I'm a little overly concerned about asking them for too much. And this is the price for actually going to the salon on the day. If they come to my hotel they'll charge an extra $225 for stylists' travel fees. yikes.

So on top of the anxiety about the cost of it all, I have yet to meet a makeover/updo that I actually liked in all of my years of getting event-glammed. My M.O. is to go home, wash it out, and do it myself. I really want to get done up professionally and I'm excited about the idea of being totally glammed for my wedding with my girls but the fear of absolutely hating the result and my bridesmaids not liking the cost is looming. This is the right way to go, isn't it??

A couple of weeks ago I had a trial run from one of the private special occasion beauty companies and hated it. I think I just need to bite the bullet and pay the premium.

I think you need to ask your bridesmaids what they feel comfortable paying.  If you feel really strongly about hiring the premium services, I think you should help supplement the cost if you can't pay for it all.
  • That sounds like a lot to me. And if you are requiring your BMs to get their make up done, you should be footing the bill.

I paid $180 for my makeup and that included the on location cost, it was $80 if I went to the salon. I used Kelly LeBlanc and can not say enough good things about her. My makeup was still flawless the next morning.
