Second line Routes?

Sorry, another second line question.  Our wedding is at the Board of Trade and I'm looking for route suggestions.  I'm filing the application and would really like to map a route that goes down to Bourbon Street and back, but not sure if that is too long of a walk? (about 11-12 blocks)

Can you recommend your route?  I'd like to at least cross Canal into the French Quarter.  THANKS!

Re: Second line Routes?

  • You're so smart to plan this out ahead of time! I just assumed my coordinator would pick the perfect route for us but I wasn't happy with it. Wish I'd arranged it ahead of time!
What time of year will you be getting married? I got married in late March and my 9 block second line was fun but some guests did complain. I know some ladies found it uncomfortable in their high heels (though I did provide filp flops) and the heat got to some of the guys since they were in suits.
  • You have to provide the route to the NOPD.
  • We're getting married October 20th.  Hoping it won't be too hot and am telling all the ladies to bring comfy shoes!

NOPD said they would provide a route if I didn't have one in mind, but I want to make sure we go up to the quarter and not just around the warehouse district, so I want to provide one in advance.

Our wedding was October 23 last year and the weather was perfect. Good luck!
  • I'm getting married at the Board of Trade as well and have been trying to figure this out as well. i'd love to go into the quarter but I'm thinking it's gonna be too long of a hike. i'm getting married September 22 tho it'll still be pretty warm. End of October at least the weather will be better!

Question... how did you get this form and when do you ahve to have it in by? thanks!

  • I'm trying to figure out my route as well - getting married at Le Pavillion so it's almost too far to go to the FQ - thinking just a trip around the block. might not even go into the streets
