Venue Help!

I'm having a hard time finding a venue for 150 people for less than $11k. I love the Board of Trade and Federal Ballroom, but they are sadly just over my budget. Rosy's is in our budget, we think it's a bit casual though. Any suggestions?

I booked Audubon Tea Room - a Saturday night for 3 hours is $10K + $650 for each additional reception hour or for the ceremony.

Audubuon Tea room looked really pretty in pix that I saw. You can do a lot with lighting there, apparently.

Also, what about NOMA? I think they can section off a smaller area (or even a really large one if you need) and then you've got beautiful art already on the walls!

My daughter looked at the Parkview Terrace at City Park last week - it's the right size for your group and I think right in your budget. It's on the 2nd floor and has a balcony.

I love the Tea Room, but I have heard a lot of ladies say that it needs a lot of decorations, which they do not provide. And I literally just left a message with April to see the Parkview Terrace. I will definitely look into the Tea Room though, it's a great location and beautiful!

I initially looked into the Tea Room and decided not to go with it. It was just too much of a headache. If you're having the ceremony there, you have to rent chairs because they don't use theirs outside. The room itself is beautiful, but there is sooo much decorating that you'd have to do. From friends, I've heard that it's just too much to do and will break the bank. I'm going with Cedar Grove Tchoupitoulas Plantation instead. Jill is great and a pleasure to work with.

Do you know if tables, chairs, linens, etc is included at the Parkview Terrace, or if there is a charge? On my email it's listed under arrangements and amenities, so I can't tell if it's included. I also have an appt Friday to see it, so I can update everyone on my experience.

Yes, they're included - cocktail seating, chair covers, linens; even the cake. Please post after you go, want to hear if it will work for you!

I was a City Park bride. My ceremony was in the rose garden and my reception was in the Pavilion of the Two Sisters. I worked with April and she was wonderful! The food at City Park is incredible (people are still talking about it) and the staff is amazing. I wouldn't change a thing about our day!

Thanks so much! I am beyond excited right now. It's nice to know that the staff and food is good!

    I'll keep everyone updated! :)

If you are open to the westbank, Taravella Manor and La Maison creole are good

We went to the Wax and weren't that impressed. Beth offered us no help. We went and she basically said here's the space, do you have questions. She didn't walk me through the place, or offer how my night might flow. When I asked about pricing, she offered me vague numbers.

Other than Parkview Terrace, we have an appt with Rosy's Jazz Hall. I'll update tomorrow!

Parkview Terrace was nice and the price is good, but it's a bit small. The bathrooms downstairs were pretty outdated too. Other than that the parking is good the area and atmosphere is good also.

    However....

Once we set foot in Rosy's, we fell in love. It has a lot of charm and character. We would have a lot more space for our guests to move around. They are also right in our budget- we are actually getting a lot more for our money compared to the Terrace. Steve was the person I met with and he was so knowledgable and helpful.

So FH and I are 99.9% sure we are going with Rosy's Jazz Hall!

Magnolia Plantation and Southern Oaks would probably be in your budget, and both are gorgeous.  Everything's all included in the price, so it makes things kind of easy.
