Reception Card Info (DW)

Since alot of you here are DW brides like myself, I thought I would post this here too for some help.  Website will be on reception card for sure. 

Are you mentioning the Second Line on your reception card? I have it on my website, but thought I should state here that the SL will escort us from the Cathedral to the reception. 

My reception has a definite end time of 8:30.  Should I put that on the card so guests can know they have the remainder of the evening to go out (everyone is from OOT)?

Are you including the Welcome Party and/or Brunch Info on the reception card? I was thinking of putting it on back side.  It will be on the website too. 

Any other suggestions/thoughts?

I had 2nd Line info on the website and a deadline for letting us know if alternate transportation was needed for anyone old or physically unable to make the walk.  We didn't mention it on the RSVP card but we had a description of the 2nd Line on the last page of the wedding programs.  I also wanted guests to know there was a definite end time, so the back of the wedding program had the schedule for the remainder of the day (2nd line, cocktails, dinner, dancing).

We had a welcome booklet handed out to each guest as they checked into their hotel and it included the schedule of activities, like the welcome drinks and farewell brunch (those were alos on the website for months before-hand).  I noticed that people didn't travel with invitations and other info they received before the wedding.  They seemed to just assume they would get all the details again (I couldn't believe how many people didn't even think to jot down the time and place of the Rehearsal Dinner even!).  So having the welcome booklets with all the times, details, and locations in hand, was very helpful.

Thanks-   I have my welcome letter with interiary planned out as well, so I think you are right that having it on website and again in the welcome bag is sufficient.  My MIL really wants to send out separate invites for the welcome party and brunch, but I am trying to steer her away from this.  I think guests will be put out with receiving so many separate invites (showers, wedding, welcome party, and brunch).  That's really why I was contemplating putting it on the reception card as a way to avoid doing it her way.

I hear you on the multiple invitations!  That's why I decided on the welcome booklet.  It was getting ridiculous how many invitations we'd be sending out.  The stationery and postage adds up-- as does the work!

I'm a little worried that people will try to bypass my second line. If I end up with the ceremony and the reception at the same place I'm worried that people will just not leave. If I have two locations, maybe they will skip the ceremony and second line and just show up for the reception? We will be 100% OOT, so some people might not get the whole SL thing, but it's really important to my FI and the main reason he wanted a DW wedding in NOLA. I'm thinking of putting ceremony at 6 pm, celebration to follow? Then include the maps and schedules on the wedding website. Almost everyone I know has a smartphone and could look up the location if they somehow get separated. And I may say something like reception 7 to 10 so they know it will be over early and we plan to head out to the bars on an informal basis with the party crowd.

We just put an insert with the wedding website. Although, everything was at the same location so those who didn't want to Second Line could sit out. I did include it in our programs so everyone would have a clue what was going on.
