Resturant Reccomendation Needed

We will be in town at the end of the month for one night. Since it falls right between our birthdays, I'd like to go somewhere for dinner. Usually we do Commander's, but something like that would break the bank right now, and I'd like to try something new anyhow.

What place would you suggest, medium price ranged? FQ, marigny, wherever.

We like Palace Cafe (on Canal St. near FQ) or Atchafalaya (uptown) for an upscale dinner that doesn't break the bank...I think they both have web sites so if you Google them you can see their menu/prices and see what you think.  My fiance used Atchafalaya's online reservation system and was really impressed with it, he even requested to sit in a particular section with a certain waiter and they took care of us.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

I love La Crepe Nanou. It's romantic, fun and affordable. They don't take reservations though, so expect a long wait, especially after 7pm. Totally worth it though! http://www.lacrepenanou.com/index.html

I love D*ck & Jenny's uptown...also no reservations though...if it is a Fri. or Sat. you could be waiting a looooong time but it's worth it!!  I also really love Bayona, Susan Spicer's restaurant in the FQ...pricey, but not as pricey as Commander's.

TK wouldn't let me write in the whole name of the first restaurant!!  I guess they think I'm writing an obscene post...it's just the name of a restaurant, lol!!!

I love either Drago's or Muriel's. Still both a bit pricey, but not as much as Commanders. Palace Cafe or Bayona are both great suggestions too.

All the above suggestions are great (mmm Bayona, I'm drooling...) but I had to add my new favorite - IRENE'S! (FQ, on St. Philip)

Delicious, to die for italian food. Charming, upscale atmosphere. Very, very reasonably priced. Check it out!

Drago's is delicious! Port-of-Call has the best burgers. Copeland's has the best steaks is one of my all time favorites. Jacquimo's is a really fun place with great food.
