Unique Cake Bakers?!?!

I have a specific cake that I would like for our wedding.  It is tall and more slender with some detailing, rather than rounder and shorter.  Some larger bakeries are unwilling to work with the shape and/or design(i.e. Haydels).  Is there any smaller bakeries or even out-of- the-house bakers that do great work and are willing to work with different requests?

I spoke with her because I loved all their designs!  Unfortunately, she is not available for my date because there is a cake convention so she will be OOT.  Thanks for the suggestion!!!!

Try Flour Power in Chalmette - they're great to work with and have done some crazy designs. You can see some of their work on the website. I brought in a picture of my cake that has some intricate fondant detail and they had no problem with it. Also - their cakes are delicious! Edited for autocorrect

we are using kupcake factory on w esplinade. they deliver to the french quarter, and they have great examples in their albums.

I also recommend Charisma Cakes! She made our groom's cake and some people said it turned out better than our wedding cake which we got from another vendor. We loved both cakes but the groom's cake was even better than what we had asked for, both in taste and look! She really listened and ran with our ideas.
