Bar with private space to rent for day-before drinks

We're having a destination wedding in February and almost everyone is coming from out of town. After lamenting over the thought of inviting only select people to a rehersal dinner and missing out on precious hours with people we love (some of whom are coming from overseas), we've decided to have a small rehersal lunch and to have a party for whomever is in town Friday evening. We used to live in NO and are racking our brains trying to think of a good/great bar in either uptown, midcity or downtown where we can rent a private room, at least for a few hours, before we can't hold people back and they are ready to explore the town. Need space for up to 75 people, and we don't want a cheesy place. Any ideas?

    The House of Blues has a really neat room that can fit about 75.  It was very beautiful.  I can't remember how much the rental fee is, but they were pretty reasonable.

    Have you tried the Columns Hotel? It would be perfect for your OOT guests since it's typical NOLA and along the streetcar line, so it's easy to get there. I have no clue if they would reserve a space for you, but might be worth checking out.

    Also, Superior Grill on St. Charles always has a fun atmosphere (and excellent margaritas!).
