Has anyone done a room block at the Omni?

Hey y'all,

I'm getting married at the Cathedral and want to get ready at the Omni, so I'd also like to have my room block there. Has anyone been able to block rooms there? I've sent two RFPs online and not received a response. I'll probably give them a call tomorrow, but just wondering if any of y'all have experience with them? If so, what were your rates like?

    Here's the contact info for the person I dealt with for my room block.  He's very nice.  The rate for our Feb 11, 2012 wedding (mardi gras season) is $189 but you could get a lot better (or worse!) depending on your wedding date.

    I've been talking to Jeannine Harjo, who also does Express Sales at the Royal Orleans.  The block has been a little challenging to get up, but Jeannine has been very helpful.  I have a friend who works at Omni corporate, so I got a better rate.

    Ben Picone is GREAT!!!! & also Celeste Myers there is awesome. Ben helped my entire family & also was able to get them over to the Crescent because we went over our block =/

    They quoted me 210 for oct6th 2012 weekend, so 189 is a good deal.
