Second Line Umbrellas

I bookmarked ckbproducts.com because I ran across another bride on here who said she DIY'd hers and ordered the umbrellas from this site - should I get a 48" or 60"?  I'm thinking 48" would be plenty big, but they have one listed as a 60" wedding umbrella.

Thanks!

That seems a bit big unless that's the size you're going for, what dimension are they measuring?  Are you just making them for yourself and the groom, or is this a favor for everyone?

The Mardi Gras stores around here carry black and white umbrellas that could be used to DIY.  I got one just yesterday at the bead store in the Elmwood area (not sure of the name of the store) for $5.  We were looking for a black one and they had three different sizes.  Can't imagine ordering them online would be any cheaper!
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • Our florist is making mine and it is small. 60" is something like a golf umbrella size, right?

  • I definitely thought the 60" was too big but since it was labeled as "wedding", that's what threw me off.  I found a set of 6 that are 30 1/2" on oriental trading for $15, they are all white and decorate your own style.  I was just planning on doing them for us, not the bridal party, but if I can get 6 so cheap (we have not asked any attendants yet since we are still over a year away, except my MOH - has been my best friend for 10 years - but we are planning on 2 each) I may do that.  I linked it at the bottom if anyone is interested.

  • We ordered these mini umbrellas (<--clicky) for our wedding. The description says they are 14 inches. You can see them in my siggy pic just for size reference.

  • There is no way mine was anywhere near 60", or even 48". If I had to guess I would say maybe 24-30". My DOC made it.
  • I just wanted to add that when making your umbrellas, use a glue gun to attach your boa. I spent hours sewing thinking it was the only secure way. We were really running out of time at the end and my mother used a glue gun and finished in a few minutes. Wish I had done this before!
