Royal Sonesta Honeymoon suite

Has anyone used the honeymoon suite at the Royal Sonesta? I am interested in using it to get ready day of and we are too far our so they refuse to tell us how much it is. I just want to know how much I can budget toward that, and dont want to wait till a few months before the wedding when everything is locked in to find out! Thanks :)

Re: Royal Sonesta Honeymoon suite

  • when is your wedding? That's odd that they won't quote rates for you! I didn't book there, but it was one of the places I considered. They have several different types of suites and they ranged $350-950 for my mid-March wedding.

I ended up booking at the Hyatt French Quarter for my suite and one of my room blocks because the suite was HUGE. It doesn't have the French Quarter charm, but all things considered it was a much better fit for me based on the price/space.
  • Our wedding is next June so I figured they would be able to tell me something being that we're 9 months out! I just don't want the suites to book up! Were you able to look at the suites when you were asking about them?
  • That's really weird that they won't give you rates if you're only 9 months out!! It's not like it's 3 years away! I actually first started emailing with a sales manager over there in July about my March wedding, so that's almost 8 months out. Honestly, that seems very odd and unhelpful, I'd go somewhere else unless you're REALLY set on the Royal Sonesta.

It took me awhile to set up a time to see the suites because the hotel is usually pretty full, but I was able to do a site visit and saw 6 different suites.
  • Are you trying to do it as a part of a room block or just on its own?  They may not be able to give you availability as part of a room block if they have something city-wide going on.  Check the online booking on their website.  Sometimes the booking doesn't go far out enough and they simply don't have prices set (Because they're seasonal).

In my experience, if you're having a friday night or saturday night wedding, be prepared to reserve the suite for two nights and, depending on how large the suite, set aside at least $300-400 per night.  AT LEAST
  • I was told the honeymoon suite lists for $675, although if you have your wedding there, they will give it to you for $100 on your wedding night. We are staying an extra day, and they are going to give us a rate of $229 for that night too.
  • Hello!  A great friend of mine works in Sales for the Royal Sonesta.  I would be more than happy to reach out to him for you.
