HELP: CEREMONY AND RECEPTION AT THE HILTON

I AM NEEDING HELP ON HOW TO DECORATE A SMALL BALLROOM FOR A CEREMONY. I AM GOING TO RENT CHAIR COVERS WITH RIBBONS FOR THE BANQUET CHAIRS. I AM TRYING TO FIND INEXPENSIVE WAYS TO DECORATE THE FRONT OF THE BALLROOM WHERE WE WILL BE STANDING AND INEXPENSIVE AISLE DECOR. HAS ANYONE ATTENDED OR HAD A CEREMONY OR RECEPTION AT THE HILTON ST CHARLES. THE RECEPTION WILL BE ON THE SKYVIEW TERRACE ROOFTOP IF THE WEATHER IS ON MY SIDE THE BACK UP IS ANOTHER BALLROOM IF THE WEATHER DOES NOT COOPERATE. I ALSO AM NEED INSPIRATIONS/IDEAS FOR A COLOR PALLETE MY WEDDING IS MARCH 2, 2013. KINDA OF FALLS IN BETWEEN WINTER AND SPRING.

Re: HELP: CEREMONY AND RECEPTION AT THE HILTON

  • Your color palette and theme don't necessarily have to fit the season -- do something that reflects your personality and your fiance's and who the two of you are as a couple.  If you talk to the coordinator at the Hilton maybe he/she would have some ideas about different things you could do or pictures from other weddings they have hosted.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I agree with PP. Your colors and theme do not have to match the season. I think you should figure out your theme or main colors THEN figure out your decorate. It will makes things easier for you. Good luck.

  • Did you book with the Hilton St. Charles already?  How have they responded to your requests, etc?  I really want this venue, but they didn't seem to have much experience hosting weddings.
