Invitation Envelope Printing

It's about that time to start addressing my invitations, but I don't want to hire a calligrapher (to avoid a higher cost). I want to have the addresses nicely printed on the envelopes, but I'm not sure where to go to get this done. I thought about printing them myself, but that makes me a little nervous.

Where is a good place to get my invitation envelopes printed? And what is the cost per envelope?

Thanks!

Re: Invitation Envelope Printing

  • IME, this process is really onerous, because they envelopes normally get stuck in the printer.  Maybe you can use a really nice wraparound label.

Otherwise, I know some stationers do offer this service.  I would just call around and ask.  I don't think it's that cheap though.
  • I am using Celeste Marshall - Hand Addressed by Celeste is her company - you can google it. She doesn't do calligraphy but very nice handwriting and her prices are very reasonable.

  • we're printing ours. it's a team effort :) once you use a few blank sheets of paper for practice and get the settings figured out, it's a breeze.
  • They are easy to print yourself if you do not have a liner. If you have a liner, it'll get stuck and rip the envelope more often than not.
I had a calligrapher who did great work for for my inner and outer envelopes (charged about a dollar for each and extra .50cents for the ones with the liner)but I had some very last minute additions to our list and I fed those envelopes into the printer myself (the outer ones that were unlined). This worked well as long as I sat there and literally hand fed each envelope as I hit the print button for each envelope individually.
My stationary store charges about 1 dollar per envelope to print so I didn't spend that much extra going with the calligrapher I found.
    Good luck!
  • I printed ours on our home HP photo quality printer.  Once you figure out the parameters, it's easy!  The only messed up envelopes were user error, no ripping of envelopes or paper jams!
  • Gem's does the printing for $1 for an outer and .50 for an inner I think.

  • I had mine done at Gem Printing. They were really resonable and fast
