Seating chart hint

We did the seating chart last night!  A.d it didn't even take that long!  My momzilla had a great idea I thought I'd share with all you brides who still need to do your seating charts... we put all the names on the little tiny skinny post-it notes, and stuck them around the outside of paper plates.  No computer programs, just my parents and us and some mini-sticky notes and paper plates.  It was great- made it VERY easy to visualize everything, and to see how many tables would be 8-tops, 10-tops, and 12-tops.

We're pretty happy with the tables, and glad the task is over :)  I thought the little sticky notes (we used the neon ones!) and paper plates made it fun, even FI got really into it.

That's exactly how I did mine also, and it make everything so much easier.  Glad you had the same experience =)

I was envisioning doing something with sticky notes, but I hadn't thought it all the way through.  Did you use full-size paper plates?  I'm thinking that ten of them might take up too much space but maybe not.

Tree- so funny you did it the same!  It ws great!

LauraT- yup, we used full sized regular Dixie paper plates.  We had both my parents sitting at the dining room table and me and FI sitting on the floor.  It did take up space but once we were done taping the stickies down and labeling them, we just staccked them up in a stack.  I was actually thinking, though, you could definitnely use smaller salad-sized paper plates if you wanted.

Thanks!  I will probably use the full-size just becuase we'll probable have some lying around - stacking them is a good idea, I was just trying to imagine what I would do with them after!

What a great idea! I will definitely keep it in mind when I start doing seating charts next year. A great way to actually visualize how seating will work.
