I Need Recommendations for...

An inexpensive ceremony and reception venue, or two separate inexpensive ceremony and reception venues. I'm beginning to doubt such places exist!

I'm a bride-to-be working with a VERY tight budget, looking forward to having a small wedding of about 100 people. So when I say inexpensive I basically mean dirt cheap. If anyone has any suggestions of where to look, I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you in advance :)

Some of these places are in PA, but not very far from Baltimore County.  Look at having your wedding on an off day or off season to save on venue rental fees and have better availability for inexpensive vendors.  And consider lunch instead of dinner to save on catering costs.

    - Church hall if you or your FI belong to a church
    - Wineries - Fiore winery in Pylesville is reasonable
    - historic locations
    - county/state owned locations - we used Liriodendron in Bel Air, they are very reasonable depending on the time of year and day of week
    - parks Oregon Ridge does events, I think
    - restaurants with private rooms - I know Great American Saloon (Red Lion, PA) is very inexpensive for event catering, generally less than their normal meal prices
    - non-country club golf clubs - Pleasant Valley (Stewartstown, PA) rents out their room for a couple bucks per person and has had tented receptions before as well
    - converted barns - The Duke Farm (Fawn Grove, PA) has an outdoor ceremony site, converted barn for cocktail hour, and covered pavilion for reception
    - back yard of a family member or close friend, but keep in mind that rental costs can sometimes add up to be as much as renting a venue
    - VFWs

BBQ caterers - Beefalo Bill's is delicious, and BBQ caterers tend to not go above $10 pp.  They may be able to tell you some locations where they've catered in the past.

Traditional caterer - we used Dean and Brown.  More expensive than restaurant catering, but they're one of the least expensive but very reputable traditional wedding caterers in the area.  I believe their prices start around $35 pp, plus about $1k in service charges for your guest count.

Try a state park and have an outdoor BBQ type reception? That wouldn't be very expensive at all and would be lots of fun.

I am using Papa Leones in Dundalk. Having both the ceremony and reception there. It is 325 to rent their hall and you can either use their caterer or bring your own food! If you use their catering it is 18 pp or i think 21 pp. The only thing is it is a strict menu. They only have a few choices. The hall itself is pretty and the people are really nice. Their food is pretty good too! they do have a site www.leonescatering.com
