PLEASSSEEEE help...sad

Well...the place I REALLY wanted as a venue is booked. I was aiming for a September wedding, but the only dates me has left are the 4th and the 11th. Kinda have to do Saturday because of OOT guests and family and such. Sooo please help me....what should I do. Labor Day weekend is the 4th...September 11th isn't the best day to remember my wedding, esp because my dad was involved with the rescueHe also has October 9, but I think it's too late to do the pool blue color I wanted. And FI says August is too hot....Sooo I'm caught in a jam and feel like I wanna cry. Please advise is needed!! :-(

I agree Sept 11th is probably not the best choice, and August will be too hot. I would go with October! It should still be great weather on the 9th (we got married on the 11th and it was 72 degrees and perfect - so I admit, I am biased). But seriously, October doesn't really get fall-like until late in the month. I don't see why you can't do pool blue in October. JMO!!

SK...how do you ALWAYS make things better! lol Still trying to figure out what to do....sucks...:-(

SK always has fabulous words of wisdom!  She has a great way of practically looking at situations and diffusing the wedding stress.I agree with her that I'd go with the October date.  I don't think that you want to remember your wedding with Sept 11th.  I think you can still have whatever color you want for your wedding!

The weather here is generally still really nice in October so I'd go with that.  I think you can still do your pool blue color....as long as it's carried throughout your theme it will look great!  I'm getting married in late September and people ask if I'm doing a fall theme.  While you definitely could, I don't feel like it's very fall-like here in late Sept/early Oct and my wedding will look more summery.  Early fall is my favorite time of year---still warm, but less humid.Good luck :)

Ditto the October date.  But just an FYI I had a Sunday wedding, tons of my OOT guests came (the ones who didn't probably wouldn't have come on a Saturday anyway) and we saved a ton of money! But if you can do pool blue in September, you can do it in October too.  So don't stress too much about this!

Ditto pp's, I would do it in October, it's still really nice here. I also don't think Labor Day weekend is bad if you send STD's early enough. I do think Sat is best if you have a lot of OOT guests so it's good you're at least sticking with that day! Pool blue color would also still be fine for early October, imo.

Ditto SK, October is a fabulous month! We got married on the 12th and the weather was perfect. IMO, you can do pool blue any time during the year!

I agree with all PPs. You can use your pool blue color any time of year. Don't let the month dictate what you've been dreaming of. I think October is a fabulous month - I might be a little biased. And.plus.also you don't need to have a 'fall' theme just because your wedding is in October.

You're talking for 2010 right?  Not like 3 months from now...Anyways, I got married at the very end of September and the weather was amazing, so the very begining of October should also be fabulous.  I say stick it out the extra 2 weeks, and your fiance is right, August is too hot to get married.

Ditto all pps.  October is a great time to get married--the weather is still warm but not humid. And don't worry about colors and seasons.  No offense to anyone but I think seasonal colors are cliche.  If you had a December wedding would you have a red and green wedding?

Thanks for all your help. I'm now looking around at other places. Just to get an idea. I called Swan Harbor and they are booked through September and October. I also contacted River Plantation, Celebrations By the Bay and Herrington Harbor. Any other ideas on places, pref on/by the water??

I'm getting married at the Kent Manor Inn next Memorial Day weekend. By the time I booked it, many other places were filling up--but they had lots of open days (even Saturday nights!) It's on a large creek, right on the water. There's also the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, the headquarters of the Save the Bay Foundation, and Kurtz's Beach--and plenty of others on the Eastern Shore.By the way, I'm curious--what's wrong with Labor Day weekend?

I agree with all the PPs who said that October will still be a great time to get married.  October around here is still pretty mild - warm but not unbearably hot and humid. However - and I may be biased here :-) - I think Labor Day weekend could still be a great choice.  We are getting married the Sunday of Labor Day weekend next year, and it works out well for giving OOT guests more time to travel time with the long weekend, and it's cheaper for a Sunday wedding.  We have been able to negotiate with vendors, plus the headcount minimum is lower for a lot of venues on Sundays.  And also, most venues will double book on Saturdays but not Sundays.Just some other things to think about... GL!

Ahem...August is not too hot!! ;)We're getting married in the evening though...Well, that's what I keep telling myself, but seriously, this is Maryland, you can 50 - 100 degree days May through October (FMIL got married in Oct and it was well over 90 degrees!) Not trying to freak you out, just wanted to say that August or October would be totally fine! And I love the color pool blue, there are no rules that say you have to have a fall themed wedding in October! Also, I've seen it done with some orange flowers and it looked gorgeous!!

Well I got married in July...August to me is just fine...September 4th seems like a fine date as well as some OOT guests prefer holiday weekends (people go either way on that, there is no pleasing everyone).  Pool blue is an awesome color and I think orange flowers go great with that color, and would help to tie it in with fall (if you go with October).

Ditto all PP who said October-- we were married October 11th last year, and it was GORGEOUS weather (in the 70's and sunny). Also, I think you shouldn't have any problem doing a pool blue color-- we didn't go with fall colors for our wedding, even though it was October.
