Looking for Florist and Cake

I am down to my final list of MUST DO NOW items:Can you recommend a florist that will work with a budget $600-1000?  I don't need a lot of flowers, so I don't want to pay more then necessary, but still want them to be beautiful.  Also looking for cake simple with a few requirements (red velvet cake being one) The cheapest I could find was $325 for the absolute basic (could probably make myself). I don't necessarily have a budget for this in mind, but the less expensive the better.  (I had a $850 Sugarbakers cake for my 1st wedding and although it is the best cake ever I can't see spending that kind of money on a cake).TIA LADIES!

Our cake is included with our package at our venue, so I don't know how much it would cost individually.  We're using Sweet, in Ellicott City.  Our florist, who we just saw yesterday for a centerpiece mock-up, is fabulous.  We're using Colleen Reed at Divine Designs and Events.  She's based in Federal Hill and so easy to work with.  She's full of ideas and very budget conscious.  Pics of centerpiece in bio.

I don't know his price range (it was included in our package) but Michael at Artistic Desserts is awesome. Everyone raved about our cake.

I absolutely 100% recommend the florist we used for Lainie's wedding. Be honest and upfront right from the start about what you want and your budget. We had tons and tons of flowers and arrangements and Carolyn came in way under our budget.Carolyn Bruckner with Cache Fleur - 410-798-7588. Give her a call.

Im using the Yum Yum Shoppe. I havent had my wedding yet, but I can tell you that the price was 540 for a 4 tier cake. The tasting was amazing and she came HIGHLY recommended by my wedding planner Vaneisha Brown of Happily Ever After Events.

Mary Elliott for cake-she is in Timonium. Both her quality and pricing are great.  She works out of her home and her email address is tellgoofy5 at comcast dot netKim Tyson at Myflowerbox in Federal Hill is great with working w/in a budget. I am sure if you are upfront with her she'll come up with something great in the range you need.  katyson at myflowerboxonline dot com

I third Mary Elliott! Her cakes were delicious. I haven't had my wedding yet but I loved the samples. As for flowers I can't help much with real ones since I'm going with silk. They are less than half the cost of a florist.

I used Bouquets by Bell and LOVED my flowers.  I promise your budget will work for them.  As afar as a cake goes.  Do NOT make it your self.  Yow ill have way too much to do.  Did you try Cake Plus in Laurel.  Maybe cupcakes could be a way to go?
