SO FI told me last night that is aunt is calling everyone on his side and telling them not to go to the wedding because we didnt invite her son. FI is so pissed b/c she is only related by marriage and he hates her anyway.I thought weddings were suppose to be fun and exciting....

    Wow. That's completely ridiculous.  Apparently his aunt didn't get the memo that the world (and this wedding) does not revolve around her.  Hopefully the rest of his family is not insane too and will just ignore her! Maybe you'll luck out and it will only be her that declines :)

    That really sucks. At least maybe you could look at it this way: anyone who listens to her and doesn't come is someone you wouldn't want to be there anyway. The people who really care about the two of you will be there no matter what that aunt says.I can totally understand why FI is pissed, though. He has every right to be.

    Ugh, that is absolutely immature.  Why can't people understand it's YOUR day and YOUR money your specding to create YOUR memories?

    That's just ridiculous.  I don't understand people who have to create drama, it's so unnecessary.  If she wasn't happy about her son not being invited, she should just not come and be done with it.  Very childish behavior.If this kind of b/s happens once my invitations go out, my inner Bridezilla will be making an appearance.

    Why, oh why do people try to make a couple's wedding all about them? My aunt got upset because her almost 40 year old daughter (my step-cousin) who I haven't seen since I was 13 wasn't invited. Luckily she didn't go the lengths of your FI's aunt and when we explained to her why she wasn't invited (budget, mostly), she was fine with it. Someone needs to tell your FI's aunt to shut the heck up already! I'm guessing if your FI hates her he's probably not the only one in the family that does, so hopefully no one takes her too seriously. Sorry you're going through this!
