*Wedding planning/coordinator?????*

Has anyone hired a planner or coordinator? I know a lot of venues provide someone to sort of "run the show" but have any of you hired an actual planner? If so, could you give me an idea of how much they usually charge for their services and/or reccommended names? I'm strongly considering it and I would love a better idea of how this may, or may not, fit into my budget! Thanks, ladies!

I had all of my vendors selected fairly early on, but hired a day-of coordinator so I wouldn't have to worry. I highly recommend Heidi of Entertain-me event planning. DOC services are $750 I think.

I'm working with Vaneisha and Alicia at Your Happily Ever After. So excited! I'm doing partial planning but I think the DOC is about $1000.Let me know if you want any more info!

I also selected my own vendors so I just hired a DOC.  I also used Heidi with Entertain Me Event Planning and she was awesome! Even though my venue came with a "coordinator" I still hired Heidi which was good b/c the venues ended up leaving pretty early on so I would have been left with no one!  But she made sure everything was in place, that we were where we needed to be and that everything ran smoothly.  She will meet with you 2 times face to face before the wedding and answer unlimited e-mail/phone calls. I paid the same as cmm... $750.

Also, it's a little tricky to find, but someone took the time to compile a list of Baltimore vendors+reviews (it's a little dated I think but still very helpful!)http://vendorreviews.googlepages.com/

A sibling of a friend of mine is in the wedding planning business.  She worked in California for a couple of years and recently moved back to MD and started her own company.  I was going to use her, however, at this stage in the game, we weren't really needing a DOC.  I know her as a person, and she's great.  However, I've never seen her in the work setting.  Because she's just starting to build a base in the area, she might able to work with you in terms of price.  Here's her website, if you're interested - http://www.mangoproductionsllc.com/Let me know if you have any questions - smange5 at hotmail dot com

I HIGHLY recommend a planner - I had a full service planner (much like the ones you see on TV) and she was amazing.  Her name is Cate and she owns "Plan It Perfect".  If you want her contact information or more information, let me know!

My Mom's engagement gift to us was a DOC. I don't want to recommend her just yet b/c she has been a little hard to get a hold of and a little distant (which i am hoping changes as we get closer). I believe my mom paid $600 for her services. I am relieved to have someone else take charge besides myself, my Mom or my MOH.

We used Leslie from Wedding Savvy. She was fabulous. Everything went smoothly because of her!
