Question for *MandyJulie*

Hi MandyJulie, Congratulations on your recent wedding. I haven't posted here before, but I have been reading your posts in particular because my wedding will also be held at the Belvedere Hotel on 10/10/09. Your pictures are amazing. You and your husband look so happy! You look beautiful! My question is in reference to the Belvedere Hotel. What time was your wedding? Did you have any issues with the club in the lower level? My wedding reception is in the evening and we are planning on using the valet service. Did you use the valet service? Just wondering what your thoughts are. I really appreciate any tips you have for the Belvedere. It sounds like they took good care of you!

Hi Smange10.10, I love your engagement pictures! It's cool having a date twin ;) I'll have to find a way to post some fun pictures eventually...when I'm not at work. It seems like the wedding date is coming so fast. Are you enjoying getting your RSVPs?

Thanks!  I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the e-pics.  I have them all on a disk right now.  And, I can't believe we're only 6 and half weeks away.  That's craziness!!!  I love the mailbox stalking - although they're all being sent to my parent's house, so I get daily phone calls/emails with who's RSVP we received.  What about you?  Crossing things off the list, I hope.

Yes, we are getting close! Right now, my fiance and I are thinking through pictures before the wedding. We want to get to the cocktail hour as soon as possible because we hired a jazz trio to play for the cocktail hour and we have a dejay for dancing later. My fiance is a musician so it is very important that we get to hear the live music! We still have a few things to do, but for the most part we are ready. I'll keep an eye on your postings! Best wishes!

Hey there! My wedding started at 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. We were also worried about the club downstairs. But we were assured that the Belvedere has security and Balt. City police are patrolling the area. We had absolutely no problems that evening.Apparently the club closes at 11 (I found this hard to believe but it's what the Belv told us) and our wedding went til 1 a.m., so we liked that they'd be gone by the time our wedding ended. We contemplated valet, but we realized most of our guests would be staying at the hotel and we hired a shuttle bus for them (and wedding party). We ended up instead paying for validated parking in their PMI lot. I think it was $200? Guests just had to bring their tickets in to the Belv lobby to get validated. The cool thing is, the PMI lot is attached to the Belv. So people don't have to walk outside, they walk from the garage right on in. Which made us feel safer aboutit. So you want want to consider this, since it's a cheaper option.I'll include more in my vendor reviews when I get to that (soon), but the Belvedere did a fantastic job. They treated me like a queen. With my own personal attendants who brought me drinks, bustled my dress, everything! They totally delivered in so many ways. The one thing to sort of keep an eye out for is wedding crashers! We were on the first floor, and a wedding on the 12th floor ended at 11. People from that wedding tried to come and access our open bar and get some of our cake. We got rid of them, but just something to think about...If you have more questions you can e-mail me anytime. mandyjulie at gmail dot com

Thanks MandyJulie! Being a bride I couldn't help but worry- we also sat down with the Belvedere and went over their security situation in detail. I'll be sharing your response with my fiance and our parents. I am so glad you and your husband and all of your guests were treated so well by the Belvedere. I had no doubt, but your positive review helps me get focused on how much fun we are going to have! Thanks for your tips about the parking. Also, we'll keep an eye out for any wedding crashers! Thanks for the advice. If I think of anymore questions I'll email you. Also, I was wondering how your honeymoon was. You'll have to write about it. My fiance and I got engaged in Rome at the Trevi Fountain last August! We had the greatest time in Italy. I think about it everyday!

You got engaged at the Trevi Fountain?! How cool! I actually (jokingly) scolded H a few times for not proposing to me on a European trip. And as we ate dinner one night in Rome I said, this is romantic, you should propose. To which he said, nope, already married :) Ah well, his loss haha.Anyway it was fabulous. We went on the 10-day Med. cruise first, which was cool because we stopped in so many different places. But the 5 nights after in Rome were the best. We took a scooter tour on the last day all around Rome, that was a highlight. I'll post pictures when I get around to uploading them. We took 1000!Where are you going for your HM?

Haha! We were there last August and we spent 4 nights in Rome and 3 in Florence. It was hot but I loved every moment. We took a million pictures too.  We had been sightseeing all day on our own when he proposed! It was very romantic. We had dinner right after and I was all giddy. We had already booked this walking tour of Rome for that night. It ended up being a ghost tour which was kind of scary, but really fun! I can't wait to go back. We always joke that we want to get a scooter! I am jealous of your tour. We did take plenty of taxis...wow the drivers were wild!Since we spent all of our money in Italy last summer we are staying in the US for our HM. We are going to Vermont and staying at very nice bed and breakfast. We plan to do hiking and try out some of the breweries and just relax. It will be the height of the autumn season so it will be beautiful. Congratulations on your HM!

Your Vermont B&B HM sounds amazing! That might be the next kind of trip we take. Hit me up anytime you have Belvedere questions or otherwise, ma'dam...
