Help! Cold sore

seriously...WTF...i have been doing so good about not stressing too much and everything seems to have been so perfect except me waking up this morning with 3 days to go with a HUGE cold sore on my bottom lip and guess what it doesn't stop there...it's also a bit on my chin!  I ran out at 6am as soon as I noticed and got abreva....I am putting this stuff on 10 times a day....Any other remedies...creams, pills, food!?  I will do anything...plastic sugery!?  HELP!  (screaming in a nice way!)

Oh no. I'm sooo sorry! I had two cold sores in the past month because of stress and I had a dream the other night that I had one on my wedding day. But you still have 3 days so you should be ok. I recommend abreva... used as directed and not touching it or puting too much of anything on it. Some people may tell you to pop it but I have always been too scared to try that. 3 days should be enough time for it to heal though. Don't let this stress you out because it will only make things worse.

As gross as this may sound, Preperation H works for me. Or Carmax works, but not usually as well as preperation H.

DON"T TOUCH IT other than to put medicine on...you can have your doctor prescribe denovir but I think abreva should be just fine...

Zovirax works great for me but you have to get a prescription for it. I'm so sorry this happened, it was a nightmare of mine. But in 3 days it should calm down, just don't touch it. That's why we hire someone to do our make up right? :-) Good luck.

LYSINE!! It's a vitamin you can get anywhere (Target). Start taking it twice a day. I take it maybe once a week when I don't have one, and when I do, I take two a day. I used to get cold sores the size of a small child every single winter for about 4 years...I have had one in the last three years since I started taking lysine. Triggers for me (and I think cold sores in general) are chocolate and the sun, so avoid both for the time being. I once paid $24 to download a document some guy wrote about cold sores. Large part was devoted to lysine and also the use of ice. As soon as you feel that "tingle" that one is starting, IMMEDIATELY put ice on it for as long as you can (on and off all day). I can not tell you how many times I have stopped it dead in it's tracks. I swear by putting ice on it and taking lysine. I hope that helps!
