Two things...1.  And I am a little late on this one...holy wow introduction to the Queen on True Blood. Wow.  I don't even think anymore needs to be said other than...why do we have to wait two weeks?2.  Do you have a comprehensive running list of the books on your reading list-or at least that you have read?  With the wedding be over and fall and winter around the corner, I am looking forward to cozying up and reading some good books.TIA!

Ack, we have to wait two weeks for the next True Blood?!  I didn't catch that - arrrrgh! My guess is it's because of Labor Day weekend.  Maybe they're assuming folks are going to have vacations/cookouts/etc. planned?  Regardless, boo.I love the Queen so far, though.  I like who they cast to play her!  I am SO ready for the damn Mary Ann thing to end.  I really hope she goes away with the close of this season.  What on earth are we going to do until season 3?!  My Sundays are going to get very boring again. My primary book-tracking tool is GoodReads.com.  You can create an account and maintain various bookshelves.  I have a To Read list there that I export to Excel, and that spreadsheet is what I keep in my purse to take with me to the library.  I also track what I've read and have a special shelf for my 2009 books.  That same list of 2009 books is also in my Bio, in the 200 in 2009 section.  I don't update that with each individual book - I wait until I have a few to add to the list and then update it.  Right now, it's current. If you end up on GoodReads, let me know and we can "friend" each other so that we can see each other's shelves and share reviews :)

I agree, it's probably the holiday.  And I know what you are saying about Sundays being boring again.  I feel the same way-with Sookie-I actually look forward to Sundays.  I haven't read the books, but plan to-are they close to the show at all? That is a great list!  I think I'll print that and maybe after the wedding I will go on the Good Reads site.Thank you so much for explaining all of that to me.  You are so organized and have such a good plan. Any one your list that you absolutely hated?

The books and the show have similarities, but they also have a number of differences... all good, I think.  I like that the characters are still the ones I fell in love with (Eric, Sookie and Bill are very true to the books so far), but there are some story lines that are new or embellished in the show that I don't always know what's going to happen next.  I like that it's not predictable and I'm kept in just as much suspense as someone watching who *hasn't* read the books. The only two books I read this year that I truly hated were The Washingtonienne by Jessica Cutler and The Good Wife Strikes Back by Elizabeth Buchan.  There are a slew of others that I didn't like very much and also wouldn't recommend, but those two were the absolute worst for me.  I also tried to read The Memory Keepers Daughter and couldn't get into it at all - I gave up less than 1/3 of the way through.

Oh, and once the wedding is over if you find that you have a little more internet time at your disposal, I highly recommend the Nest Book Club message board.  Those ladies have turned me on to some books/authors that I may not have picked up otherwise and I'm constantly adding to my To Read list thanks to them.
