Just need to vent

So we had our final meeting with our venue on Friay and they JUST informed us that we will need to rent chairs for our outdoor ceremony on the 19TH!! It really makes me mad that this was NEVER mentioned to us and even worse that when she told us we had to do this she made it seem like we were stupid for even thinking that they would be able to store and provide chairs for their outdoor weddings. We are already paying $700.00 to have the 30 minute ceremony there so we assumed that these were included. It was not mentioned in the contract that they were but it was also not mentioned that they were not. When we discussed having the ceremony there outside 13 months ago that is when we should have been told not 14 days out!  So this is an additional $300.00 that we have to put out last minute that we had not budgeted for. I can just feel the stress kicking in.

That sucks, but welcome to my world and my problems with this venue! She does this crap to pretty much EVERYONE! Whether it is last minute or from the get go. I talked to a friend of ours on Saturday who is actually having their reception there too and guess what she is not charging them for the Chivari chairs! But when I asked for them it was $4/a chair. All I have to say is since I have had sooooooooooo many problems with them that after my wedding they will find out they crossed the wrong person this time around, because I will not be kind in my reviews and such. I am sorry you are now having the same issues and problems with this venue. It is such a shame since it is such a gorgeous place!

How did she get the chairs for free? I have been going back and forth with her on that issue too. She offered them to us for $4.00 a chair also but that is going to be over $600.00. My mom said from the first time that she met her she did not like her and now I am starting to see it too. She is very set in her ways and tells you one thing but does the other or changes up what she says. Me and FI both said after that meeting that she is lucky her venue is so nice because if it were not for that she would not be doing as well as she does because she does not have the personality nor busniess skills to deal with people.

that is horrible!  I just looked on your bio to see what venue it was...Valley C.C??  We almost booked them for our reception!  I'm glad we didn't now..jeez.  What a headache!  You should not have to be dealing with this sort of thing this close to your wedding.  That's really lame that you have to pay $700 to have the ceremony PLUS extra for the chairs people are sitting in for the ceremony.  Man, they really get you wherever they can.  I feel for you.  That really should have been included in the contract.  and what's with the other person mentioned who got the chairs for free?  I'd raise heck.

I am not sure if the free chairs are for the ceremony or reception though. I was peeved because I was told Chair Covers were included in the price and then I got the contract and hey were $4/chair. I found out I wasn't the first person they did this to and we raised heck and got the price down a little but still had to pay. We were actually told the chair covers were included until they got their new chivari chairs in. When we found out they were in we figured ok we don't have to pay and we will have the other chivari chairs......nope those cost money too. My mom went ballistic on the lady and thats how we got a "discount" on the chair covers, but yet are still paying more than another knottie did and then I find out my friend is getting the Chivari chairs for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hence the reason after my wedding all bets are off...............

Valentinegirl - All I know is my friend is in the sports business and his wedding is next October and he mentioned because of his line of work she has been absolutely wonderful. My FI and I looked at him and said wow she must have multiple personalities and my FI was like she is a major B**** and he likes everyone...I am usually the one who hates people and he tells me not to over react but this time he seems to be more peeved then me! I haven't dealt with her since right before the contract was due (a day after we got it and I saw the cost of the chair covers) and she called me back finally but I wasn't able to talk and she flat out said to me since I wasn't able to discuss it then (this was a sunday) that I would just need to give up my date because she didnt have the time for the rest of the week to discuss anything with me and the contract was due Friday so I would just have to give up my date. I flipped the f*** out and called my mom hysterical and my mom has been dealing with her ever since. Another reason we hired Heidi as our DOC so we don't have to deal with her the day of. Put it this way most of my friends hate her already because a lot of them were witness to the conversation I had with her in the beginning when she said I would have to give up my date. If I didn't love the venue and it didn't fit my FI and I so perfectly I would have lost the $ we put down and found another venue. Sorry this is so long, but I am so mad she has done this to another bride!

Ravens- I can't belive she gave you an ultimatum like that, since she was the one who didn't have the time to talk to you. I am just really worried now about how she is going to act at the rehearsal and the wedding. She told us that she only wanted people who were actually in the wedding at the rehearsal and not their significant others etc. I hate to burst her bubble but I am not about to tell my wedding party that they have to leave their wifes, husbands and finances at home or meet us at the dinner location, it just does not make sense. I have also heard from other people that she has been nasty to vendors as well. I really hope not.

Ugh...this is obnoxious.  This is the 2nd time we've head about this in the past few months (Rvns was the 1st.)  I'm very sorry that this is such an added stress.  Do you have a DOC?  If so, can they speak with her?  Now I'm really glad I didn't book there...I'm sending some stress-free mojo your way. *hug*
