Monogram?

Hi Ladies,So here is my first official question to the Baltimore Brides. Are any of you designing your own monograms to use for your wedding?Like I said in my intro, my whole wedding concept has changed and I'd now like for us to have a monogram. If you are designing your own, what are you using to design it?  I've seen some people use Adobe Illustrator (and I don't have that program and when I looked it up to purchase it was like 599....yikes!)Anyway, I have an idea for my monogram, I just don't know how to go about designing it electronically and then I guess figuring out...where to print it!Any help is greatly appreciated!!!  TIA

you can get 30 day free trials of that software, but for me, that wasn't really enough time for me to figure it out to actually make something.  For all of my wedding related design items I used either MS Publisher or MS Power Point.  I basically just created each piece in a text box, "grouped" them, and then saved them as a picture to use elsewhere.

Ditto pp, pretty much. I used MS Word to create all my paper stuff including my monogram.

PowerPoint is definitely an easy way to design a monogram! I designed the ones used for my best friends wedding, and am now doing the one for my own wedding.  Once you make the design, you can convert it into a JPEG (using a program such as Irfanview) in order to use it wherever you want.  Let me know if you'd like help!

KelJacks,I may take you up on the help offer :)I totally have the vision in my head of what I want for our monograms and I've even got a design for our wedding programs in my head, I just don't know how to get the images I need onto MSPP.  Does that make sense???

Yup, I totally know what you mean! My best friend was the same way...so I sent her the pages of monograms that I had started creating for my wedding (yes, I got a little carried away b/c I wanted lots of options haha) and then she chose one and I personalized it for her.  If you want, email me at keljacks at gmail dot com and we can discuss some more!

We designed our logo through love logos and for $75, it was done and sent to us within 24 hours in various formats so that we could use it for whatever we wanted.  I didn't really want our wedding to have a theme, per say, so we used this to tie everything together, starting with the save the date magnets (you can upload your logo to vistaprint and get magnets pretty inexpensively), then on our out of town guest brochures, programs, favor tags, and then finally our thank yous.  The website is www dot loveletterslogo dot com Good luck!Amie

Kel... I'm designing my idea as best as I can on PP as we speak/type :) The way I'm doing it is just using the whole page and maybe from there you can tell me how to put it down to monogram size.Anyway, I'll email it to you (possibly today, if not definitely tomorrow)!I really appreciate your help already!!! Do you have any experience with designing wedding programs as well??  I've got an idea for that in my head as well!!!!! Ya know what's sad, since FI and I changed our whole wedding theme, I've wanted to set a new date (a little later for more planning time) and pick a new venue...all of which I have not done yet, but here I am designing our wedding monogram and a wedding program...something just doesn't seem right about that :)
