NWR- FHA is making me crazy

vent-ish:FI and I have found the perfect house. its in a great neighborhood and just feels like home. the only reason we can afford it is because it needs a good deal of work done to it. enter FHA, who says we can't buy the house untill the windows have been scraped and repainted for lead paint protection. but the seller wont do ANY repairs! I'm about to just grab my sander and head over to do it myself! but then i would be really pissed if we didnt get the house!arg. im going to go live in a box.any savy realtor-istas out there?

Could you work something out with the buyer where you'll pay up front for the window painting, if they agree to redure the price of the house by an equal amount?

I know what you mean...we didnt have to deal with anything like that but they are being SUPER picky about things...I had to explain every deposit down to one for 5 dollars!!! It's super annoying...Good Luck and honestly people told me this and I hated it but it's so true...if it doesn't work out it's ok...you will find something better and wonder why you even cared about the other house...but good luck and if it's meant to be it will work out!!

Welcome to life after the real estate collapse.  I agree with trying to negotiate with the seller.  But honestly, if they refuse to do ANYTHING either offer to pay out of pocket for it or like pp said just let it go.  There are tons of houses out there right now.  The seller should realize the next potential buyer might run into the same thing.  That is probably not just an FHA rule but the house has to pass inspection for the bank (regardless if it is an FHA or not).  I know its stressful looking so good luck with whatever you decide.
