Engagement Pics at Ft. McHenry

Hey Girls, So my mom had this fabulous idea that FI and I should do our e-pics at at Ft. McHenry. My photog said that sounded great. But I am wondering is anyone else has done their pics there, because I'm worried we might need a permit or permission or something to take pics there since it's a historic place. I tried to look on their website in the Special Use Permits section, but didn't see anything about needing a permit just for 3 people walking around doing a photo shoot. Does anyone know if there's a policy for this not listed on the website?

We did ours there with no permit, and no problem. We just walked around with out photog and had pics taken all over. I thought they turned out well. One warning-the lawn and grassy areas were FULL of goose droppings, so I'd recommend a blanket or something to sit on if you're planning on doing any on the ground.

Thanks! Did you buy the $7 passes so you had access to the whole place? I was thinking FI and I would do that- buy 3 of them (one for the both of us and for our photog).

We did ours on Top of Federal Hill overlooking the harbor and they looked great

We did not buy the passes but were able to walk around and have some pics taken by the brick structures, cannons, flags, etc. I think it is probably worth it to get the passes for you and your photographer if you have time and good weather. We didn't have a ton of time and it was freezing (in Feb) when we did them, so we were only out there for about 45 minutes.

See, I love the idea of Federal Hill ontop the Hill, and that's my other interest. But I am pretty sure with out photog we only get 1 location for e-pics... though I would LOVE to do both, especially since Fed Hill and Ft. McHenry are so close to each other. I also think we only get an hour. (at least that's what the online description of our package says). We're getting them done on October 24th... I'm praying it's not cold and rainy because I don't want to have to re-schedule!

Oh, that is great!  We really wanted to do our e-pics at Fort McHenry, but then our photog had the idea to do them at sunrise, so we're doing Tide Point (Ft McHenry isn't open until 8am..).  I think we're going to do our wedding pictures on top of Federal Hill b/c we love that location too! I hope the pics turn out well!  We're doing ours on October 10.

TWO things:First, I think I remember you from HS, I graduated a year behind you! CONGRATS!!Second, I would call Ft. McHenry and check, I had the same idea and my photog said he got stoped and said he needed a permit and all this BS. SO I would DEF double check before you make the drive from BA to downtown.

sweetclfy - I was just about to post a msg to see where you are taking your e-pics at.  We are using the same photographer. We are between federall hill and fells point.This is funny... but what are you wearing?  We are doing oct 13th and i am sure it will still be warm out.  i wanted to wear a summer dress but bc of the season (leaves falling, turning colors) it may look dumb.  I want to do two outfits.... i love seeing e-pics where the couples are very casual and then dressy. i think ft. mchenry is a great idea!!! u should get some great shots!

Yeah, and its sooooo funny to see a pic of you and k because I remember both of you on the sidelines of the football games! I was a cheerleader. Congrats to both of you again!

Yeah. Very crazy! Saw your siggy pic the other day but I've been SWAMPED at work so I havnt really had a chance to leave a message on here for ya. Just enough time to come home cook dinner check some thing and bedtime. Hoping work calms down soon so I can get some wedding stuff done!
