its about time!

I've been engaged since December, and now we finally have a date set!  I've learned so much from all of you just lurking, I can't wait to actually get into the wedding planning.

Aww thanks, it was taken at my friends wedding at the BMI in July.  Our date is Nov 27, 2010.  Actually, I was going to page you soon.  You had your reception at Overhill's right?  We just looked there today and I really liked it!

Yep, we had an afternoon reception there!  Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Were they as willing to work with what you're budget is as they claim to be?  Were they as helpful as they say they are going to be with helping you plan everything?  Is there anything that they didn't tell you when you went to see the place for the first time that you would have liked to have known?

They really are good at working with your budget - they do have the booklet for you to look through to give you ideas about what you can have with your menu, but you're not limited to just what is in there.  As far as helping with the planning, Lynda the event coordinator is fantastic to work with.  Bob, the menu coordinator can be hard to get ahold of through e-mail, but he's great in person and on the phone. And for the day of, Brandy and her team know what they are doing and will help make sure that everything is running smoothly.  I had my own day of coordinator there with me, so she actually did most of the work that day, but bmore09bride got married two weeks before me without using her own DOC, so she could tell you more about that. I can't think of anything they didn't tell me, but I will say that the one downside to Overhills is that if it's nice outside, a lot of your guests will go there, and because of that they can't hear when the DJ announces any special songs, cake cutting, etc. And there's a lot of guests I feel like I didn't spend enough time with because they weren't in the main ballroom.  But that's also because we had a photobooth out there too, so it's not entirely their fault.  But I'm very glad we booked with them.

Awesome.  Thank you so much!  I really think as of right now that we are going to book them.  They are holding the date for us right now.  We just wanted time to think it over and determine if we wanted to look at anywhere else, but I think I'm sold.

Thanks!  The Whole Foods in Annapolis did our flowers actually, and I'm so happy with how they turned out!

It never would have occured to me to get Whole Foods to do flowers, however every time I walk into the store I always think how pretty their flowers look.  That's something I'll have to look into.
