invitation help

Ok- does it matter if the blue on the pattern of the invitation is a lighter blue than the colbalt blue scheme of the rest of the wedding? (bridesmaids dress are Horizon from DB)??? Also...is it ok if the escort cards don't have the same pattern?? We found a style we like- but it's a much lighter blue (think "the knot blue") and they don't seem to have escort cards in the same pattern... Ugh!So many choices!

Nope, it doesn't matter IMO.  No one will bring their invitations to the wedding and compare the shade of blue against what they see throughout the day.  Also, they won't compare the pattern of the escort cards to the invitation.Details like that are important to us as brides but people really just appreciate when everything looks neat and finished.  Generally, they won't notice the continuity of color/pattern like we do.  Just pick what you like and make sure that the things that will be clustered together make sense - escort cards + linens + flowers for example.

I just read that to the FH and he said "can you write something back for me....thats what the groom said" lol- you're right tho- we as brides obsess over those types of things!!! Thanks for your advice

No problem - I kind of had the same problem.  I liked an olive green for my invitations but I used a grass green for bridesmaid dresses. I just decided to put my effort into making the invitation look the best it could and then making the wedding look the best it could and didn't stress out about the two being matchy because it was too hard!  Good luck :)

Ditto kimbrout.  Our invites aren't even going to be done in our color scheme at all.  Gasp! :-)
