As Requested - Baltimore Museum of Industry!

Since a few of us mentioned it, here is our dedicated BMI thread! My two issues now are deciding on stations vs. sit down dinner, and how to decorate the pavillion for the ceremony.Regarding dinner - I love the idea of stations but am worried about crowds and long lines.  We will have approx. 200 people, and station tables will take up room.  Also, if there's only one station for each thing, the lines are likely to be long.  Anyone have any insight on that? We are pretty set on Atlantic Catering - prices are awesome and they seem really helpful! For the ceremony - I'd like to decorate the pavillion somehow, but I'd prefer not to spend a lot of money (and am not too big into flowers) and have no creativity whatsoever.  Don't really want to resort to hiring someone for this.  Do you girls have any ideas??I'm excited to chat with you all more about BMI weddings!!  I am a 8/21/10 bride!

Hey! I love this thread :-) We are 4/24/10 at BMI, but getting married at Old Otterbein Church. We're doing a sit down dinner and using Chef's expressions. We also anticipate about 200 people. I think you can fit stations--they don't take up so much room. Whereas a buffet would take a lot more...Not sure about lines though. Good luck!

I am an 8/14/2010 bride at BMI. We are having Atlantic do a seated dinner. I'm sure the stations would work also. We are having our ceremony in the pavilion also for about 200. If we get any ideas from our florist for decorations, I'll pass them along! I posted on other threads that we are still in the market for a photographer. Who is everyone else using?

I am going to a wedding at the BMI in 3 weeks! I'm excited because I've never been there. I can report back with info about how they did dinner, etc if anyone is interested. I know Atlantic is their caterer.

I am using Red Rose Photography and used Meghan Lynn Photography for b-pics! I have been happy with both so far and would be happy to send samples from my pics!

Sandgwed - You're right before me! That's exciting! I posted yesterday about all the photographers we looked at but ultimately we're going with Jen Lowe.  I really liked all the  others, and they're all very reasonable, but Jen was just awesome! SarahKate - Yes please come back with a full report!! And let us know how the food tasted too :)

Yay, I'm 6/5/10 at the BMI!!  If you haven't been to the BMI to see it set up for a wedding, just email Jessica Williams and ask when some are coming up.  I went and looked at 2 or 3.  We are also having a lot of people (probably closer to 250), so I asked her for large weddings so I could feel comfortable that we would fit everyone.  I don't know if she would know how the wedding food was being served, but you could always ask (if you want to see stations).  We're doing a seated meal, and using Linwood's. As far as decorating the pavilion, I want to DIY and not spend much money.  I found some pics on the Knot that I am going to use to replicate.  I'm not sure if these links will work....http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?STOPREDIRECTING=TRUE&STOPREDIRECTING=TRUE&id=36715&type=3&wedding_details=ceremony+decor&Sort=KnotPicks&cm_ven=Responsys&cm_cat=KnotI'm going to drape the wooden pillars with billows of white fabric like that picture, and then this is how I"m going to line the aisle: http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?STOPREDIRECTING=TRUE&STOPREDIRECTING=TRUE&id=40717&type=3&wedding_details=ceremony+decor&Sort=KnotPicks&cm_ven=Responsys&cm_cat=KnotOur photographer is Leah Stern Photography.  We LOVE her!  I can send you the link for our e-pics if you're interested in her.

I am getting married at the BMI 4.25.10 but I am not going to be in the Pavilion. I will be in the Decker Gallery and out on the bricks by the water. In terms of decorating inside, it will be minimal...Im not sure how to arrange the ceremony outside yet...but we'll figure it out.
Jessica told us to come see a few weddings to see how other people set it up.
We were going to go with Atlantic, but when we got the proposal we were annoyed by the fact we ended up getting taxed on things more than once...so we kept searching and are going with Garys Grill in Severna Park....Eddie is PHENOM! and we saved thousands!

    Hey Everyone!

I've been searching and searching for other people getting married at the BMI and I finally found you! I'm June 27, 2010 and we are having about 300 (we have a LOT of family!) so we will be to the max. Will be so interested to hear how everyone plans to decorate and organize the space! We are using both the pavilion (ceremony) and the decker gallery (reception) as well as tenting the back terrace to use for extra seating. Can't wait to hear share ideas!

Hi I am having my wedding 10/30/10 at the BMI-so great to see other people's ideas for the space! I love the idea of going to see some weddings set up. Any news on when the construction will be done? It doesn't seem that anyone has a definitive answer.
We are having Mood Swings Big Band (a 23 piece orchestra) and estimating around 175 guests so we had to go with a place with lots of space.

We are deciding on caterers right now, between Accomac and Sascha's-anyone have any feedback on either?
I'd be curious to hear about any good DIY, low cost centerpiece/decoration ideas for that type of place since there is already a lot going on. Any good recs for photographers  who did well in the low lighting would be great too.
    Thanks!
    Teressa

I'm 10/7/11 BMI Bride! I am so excited! We are doing our ceremony outside on the patio & reception inside- decker gallery. I am soooo excited to have my wedding there!

We haven't booked, but we are 99% sure we are going with Atlantic for catering. We still haven't decided on stations or sit down. Need to figure out pricing first.
