Conte Photography

Has anyone used Conte Photography?  Thoughts?  Input?

I have heard really, really bad things.  I touched on it in my bio.

I was considering using them since they're a 'Knot Pick' and their prices were really good, but after reading several terrible reviews I didn't bother even meeting with them.

My friend used them for their wedding, and their pictures turned out good.  However I dont know any real details as to how hard it was to deal with them/get pictures/etc.  I have heard bad things about them on here before though.

I almost used them for my wedding...But I ended up cancelling because since they are a big company they can pretty much send whoever they want to your wedding to photograph, regardless of who they originally promised you. So that really worried me. Their prices are good, because they include a lot of bells and whistles, but at the end of the day all you really want is great pics, once you have them, you can get prints/albums from anywhere on the net. There are a lot of great affordable photogs out there are not part of a "big company" so you know who you're getting when you give them your money.

We met with Conte. They will not let you meet/interview your actual photographer or see samples of that person's work until *after* you book them. We were told we could put down the deposit ($200 or $250?) and then they'd assign us a photog, we could meet them and have 30 days to decide. If we decided to cancel, our money would be refunded no problem. So we did that, and what do you know...we gave them the money and didn't hear from them for 3 weeks. They finally assigned someone to us, but we were out of time by then, so we cancelled our contract. And the guy seemed baffled as to why we were unhappy.

Thank you all for your input!  We have narrowed it down and decided on our photographer here in MD.
