Hi ladies, I just had a couple questions, so my fiance and I have been talking and decided to get married on friday but were not from MD, and I heard there was a 48 waiting period.. what is that? Do they perform the ceremony the day of and the license is not valid for another 48 hours or do we have to get the license and then come back 48 hours later?

    In MD you apply for the license. Then you have to wait 2 days before you can actually get married. So if you were to get the license either tomorrow of friday you would be able to get married on monday.

    Yep, she's right, you have to come back 48 hours (or more) later before you can get married.  The license is valid for 6 months, though, so you have plenty of time to get back and get married.
