Brazilian Waxes

Hey girls!
I am looking for reccomendations in the Balt County area. I live in Reisterstown but work in Hunt Valley and also willing to travel a little bit.

I want to find someone that is experienced and will make this as torchure free as possible.

Thanks girls!

I go to About Faces in Pikesville, on Reisterstown Road.  I went there for my first one and the girl was great - I was worried it would be awkward, but it wasn't, and she did a really good job minimizing the pain and instructing me on how to take care of the skin after.

I asked around before I went there...I felt like an idiot asking, but I didn't want to spend money on torture.  I can't vouch for the other About Faces locations - in fact, a friend said she didn't like the experience she had at the one in Canton - but I've been to the Pikesville salon a few times now, had a different girl every time and it was still as good as an experience as you could possibly hope for.  Plus I can treat myself to Starbucks and/or Trader Joe's right next door after it's over :)

I recommend two things: take Tylenol beforehand to reduce swelling and potential pain during the wax (the girl confirmed this for me that day) and tell them it's your first time.  I think she took extra care and she pointed out things I wouldn't have known (like that the wax can ruin your clothes, so you should wear the weird little disposable panties instead of keeping your own underwear on) and gave me tips for what lotions to use (or not) to avoid bumps and ingrown hairs and such.

um for a brazillian you wear no underwear at all, they, ya know, really get in there...be ready to flip over so they can make sure that back end is hairless as well.

I went to FX Studios, but the person I like left.  I haven't found anyone there i love enough to ask for in particular.  I did not like "Jennifer"

I am getting a bikini wax there on Thursday and if I like this person, I will let you know

Laura, can you mention who you had?

Jenn - for mine, I wore the little disposable underwear for the beginning.  I guess different people are different?  It could be because the first time, the girl might have thought it would make me more comfortable, and from then on that's just how I thought it went.

OP - The only one I remember (I got her name so I could get her again) was 'Jenn'.  Oddly, considering PP didn't like Jennifer!  I think I also had a girl names Andrea, but I could be misremembering.

The very best person around to go to for a Brazilian Wax is Vesna, owner of Mount Washington Spa on Kelly Avenue. Vesna was mentioned in InStyle magazine (the national mag, not Baltimore Style) as the Best Brazilian Waxer in America!!!  I promise you, there is NO ONE comparable in the area.  Tell her I sent you.  I have been with Vesna as far back as when she was at the About Faces in Pikesville when it was called Pauls.  Shortly after it became an About Faces she left and eventually opened her own place.

I know I sound crazy bragging about her like this, but I have gotten Brazilians at 2 other Baltimore spas. at Bliss in NY and at Smile in L.A.  I swear no one beats Vesna.  I love her!
