Rehearsal Dinner Suggestions in Ellicott City?

My in-laws have offered to host our rehearsal dinner, but my mother-in-law requested that I pick the restaurant and do some of the research, which is fine by me. Anyway she and FFIL say that they do not have a budget, which makes it more difficult for me. We'll probably have 30-50 people between the WP and OOT guests (all FIs side). I'm looking to keep it around $25-30 per person so I don't break FILs bank.

So far, some promising places are Crab Shanty, Dmitris, and Kelseys. Still waiting to hear from The Trolley stop and Ellicott Mills Brewery.

Anyone have other recommendations of places to look that are in the price range? Thanks!

There is a NEW wedding venue on Main St. Ellicott City. Contact Soheil Photography. I believe he has photographed a wedding at this venue. http://www.soheilphotography.com

Kelseys is mediocre. I wouldn't host an RD there. La Palapas is dang tasty, if you like tex-mex, and they have great margaritas.... not that I have any personal experience or anything. ;) The Phoenix Emporium has a nice private space upstairs and has pretty good, casual food.

I went to a rehearsal dinner for my brother's wedding at The Crab Shanty.  I helped put it together and spoke to the restaurant owner a couple times.  He was extremely nice and the food was not only reasonably priced, it was really good.  There were about 40 people at the dinner and everyone raved about the food.  From the salad to the desert (chocolate cake!) It was all amazing.

    Good Luck! :)

Italian - Serafino's. It's the closest thing to Little Italy in Ellicott City. Crab Shanty is fun, but I only go there for oysters, so I have no idea if the rest of the menu is good, lol.

This is probably where mine will be! My mom had a big dinner for my extended family in their private room there once- it's separate from the rest of the restaurant, so it only gets noisy if you're noisy, and it holds 25 people easily. The food is really good and not too expensive, also (figure a pasta-based entree is $15-18).

    Here's the menu (with prices): <a href="http://serafinosonline.com/baltimore_ellicott_city_restaurants/italian_seafood_dining_baltimore_catonsville_maryland_md.php" rel='nofollow'>http://serafinosonline.com/baltimore_ellicott_city_restaurants/italian_seafood_dining_baltimore_catonsville_maryland_md.php</a>
