Second gig to pay for wedding

Gone are the days where one could go on craigslist and find a quick PT gig. Frown
What are you doing for extra $$$ for the wedding?

We are buying a house too...

Ditto LTB - we both started packing lunches, quit eating dinner out as much and started actually saving and using coupons for things.

If you're looking for something PT to help with cash for a bit, the holidays are coming up.  Stores are sure to start hiring soon for the holidays.  Maybe find a place like Target or B&N or somewhere that you shop often and take advantage of the extra paycheck as well as a discount.

Maybe you could babysit? It's a quick way to earn some cash. Do you have a skill, like playing the piano, or a sport? I started teaching swim lessons to little kids on the weekend to bring in some extra money.

Another idea is a yard sale. You could go through your house (since you are in the process of moving soon), and clean it out. Perhaps list some things on ebay?

I liked the idea about working retail for the holidays. It's probably min. wage, but it's better than nothing, and you would get a discount.

Babysitting, bartending, waiting tables, overtime at your regular job, or holiday retail?

We sold stuff online. He had comics, I had scrapbooking stuff, we had Hallmark ornaments, etc. I think we made about $800 on a bunch of junk that was taking up room.

Come Monday I'll be working a 2nd gig, fundraising. The hours are cool (6-9 m-th) and it's on my way home from my first job.

Wish me luck. This could turn into a long-term situation, at least until I'm promoted on my first job.

    Thanks all!
