Videography- Are you doing it?

I just want an idea of how many people will be getting a video.

I am been searching for one for a while now and can't seem to find one that I love.  It just seems like a ton of money for a possible couple minute video.  If I get one, I would want the full ceremony, reception and then highlights on one video.

Does anyone have good rec?  Or, does anyone want to share their video with me.  I can private message you my email.

I want one but am trying to find a lower price package since it is not my high priority.

I keep finding many that are over $1,500 for the video with highlights. I would like to stay under $1,000.

I will keep an eye on this thread.

Me too!! It just seems so overpriced for what I am looking for.  If you find a good company, keep me in mind

I have to say, not having a videographer is one of my bigger regrets about the wedding.  The day goes by so fast... you can only re-live it so much through the pictures.  My cousin had a viedographer for her wedding, and she and I would always sit together and watch it... it was so much fun. 

If you have the money to do it, I would definitely recommend it.  My best friend got married 3 weeks before me, and she didn't have one either.  We both agree we that's the one thing we wish we would have spent the $$ on.

My MOH's husband was a film major in college and I love all of his work, so I'm just having him do the ceremony for us.  I figured if he wants to do some of the reception he can, but I'm not too worried about the reception part.

I am going to have a family friend from my church take care of the videography. He has lots of experience but it cheaper than a professional. I just need some filming and editing, just basic stuff to preserve the highlights of the ceremony and reception. I really don't need anything fancy.

My brother is a film student so he's going to shoot our video.  If it weren't for him, I'd probably skip it.  I couldn't find an affordable videographer that fit our budget!

My officiant is a wrestling ring announcer and some guys are doing a documentary on him. They asked us if they could film the ceremony and reception announcement; I said as long as they aren't in they way, respect the occasion, and let us have some footage, we were fine with it. They agreed on all counts, so I get some free work done

I am having a videographer for my wedding (next week!!) and found a great deal.  I'm not convinced that the quality will be Academy Award winning or anything, but I just picked whoever gave me what I wanted for the cheapest amount.  I'm paying about $500 for two-video ceremony coverage, full reception coverage, and an edited final product with all the normal things the DVD should come with.  I'm using JD the mobile DJ (www.JDthemobileDJ.com and look into their video services).  I believe the price I got was some seasonal discount or something, but even the full prices are still much lower than anyone else I found, plus all my communication with them has been fine.  I'm pretty confident they'll do a good job, but I'll be sure to post a full review after I'm back from the honeymoon!

We used Larmar Video and were very pleased.  I don't remember where the packages start, but working with Larry - he was very accommodating and I'm sure he'd be willing to work with anyone's budget.  I highly recommend him (Larry Bridge).

The price seems too good to be torue - even though they have good wedding wire reviews.

For me personallly - since I can not spend a lot on video - I really just want to be able to have some sort of capturing of the day and do not need a acadamy award winning video

Another one I saw was In Motion - they seemed to have good revews and a couple lower options.

Sorry, I do not have any rec's. But I completely agree with Sweetcfly, not having a videographer is a huge regret for me and my husband.  We had a family friend record our ceremony and there are three huge lines going through it and it has no volume.  Basically, it's useless.

We are not a couple that films things, we are more picture people so we thought it wasn't a big deal to have a video....we were wrong.  I really wish we had a videographer.

I am actually on the fence about this.  And yes, my wedding is in two months.

Part of me wants to go with one-because as you can see from pp's, most people who had one don't regret it, but often, people who skipped it do regret it. 

At the same time, we aren't video people either and I absolutely hate being filmed.  So, I plan on making my decision in the next week!  I better get on this!

We're not having one, just a photographer. Budget wise, it just wasn't doable, so I guess it's a good thing we're picture people!
