I saw on a post that you are doing a TTD session with Jenni.  That is awesome!
I contacted her about 2 weeks ago about doing one in Ocean City - she did one last year and I loved the pictures.  She gave me her available date but I still don't know if I can get off work to do it. I'll try to find out this week and hope she is still available.  I can't wait to see your pictures.

Have you received your pictures yet from Perskie?  I didn't know it would take this long.

OMG! I am DYING!!! It is taking so long to get these pictues!

I didn't think it would take this long, either, believe me! Everyone that got married back in April has their disc and everything...we just went and approved our album layout last week ( I was able to hijack two of the pages - they're in my siggy!) because Nicole had to email the image to us to approve a change...it's like I'm surviving on "picture crumbs!"...lol

She told us that we should have our album/dvd in about 4 weeks...But boy, oh boy...I had no idea it would take almost 5 months from wedding to album...do you have an idea of when you'll have yours back?

And yes - we met with Jenni after Perskie, but we still really loved her! We are doing the TTD on July 25th, and I can't wait!!! I will absolutely post the pics. I hope you can do one - I think it is going to be so much fun :-)

I have no idea when I will get them back, I received my proof cd exactly 3 weeks after the wedding and faxed her my album choices a few days later.  She said she would have the album layout done in about two weeks but that was almost three weeks ago.  I can understand that the album does take a while... however, I think it is unacceptable to not give someone their cd until the album is done.  People keep asking me to see my pictures.  Nicole did email me three of them bc we needed them for our thank you cards so I put one in my siggy.  It's driving me crazy! lol! Especially when I see people who already have their pictures when they got married after me! lol.
You'll probably have your TTD pictures before the wedding pics!

OMG! I wish I had thought to ask for one! Because we haven't done our thank you cards either because we've been waiting for our disc...and we feel like we should have them out by now!! It is crazy to make us wait for the album for the disc...especially once everything is all paid for...I may call and ask again...they'll probably say no, but it's worth a try...

Also, I'm just a little disappointed that they don't give you the black and whites of your images, like many other studios. I asked Nicole if we could have the b/w images put on our disc and she just said that we could go to photoshop and change them if we want them in b/w...I'm just not getting why we should have to go through that process when it would be just as simple for them to add them to our disc...especially after how long it's taking to get it! Oh well...

Wow, I didn't know about the black and white images, that sucks!  Well over the weekend, Nicole contacted me and we go tomorrow to see our album layout! I think she said after the layout is approved it takes 4-5 week to get the album.  I am excited to see it especially after seeing your layout on your siggy.  

We haven't done our thank you's yet.  I just ordered them from shutterfly last night. so hopefully we can have them out by the end of july so it will only be about two months after the wedding.

Nicole did a wonderful job with our layout! I only made changes to maybe 3 or 4 pages, and those changes were mostly minor - like changing the style of framing around the pictures, etc. I think in a few places once I saw pictures that I had selected in the actual layout, I changed my mind and put different ones in - but that was only in a few instances as well!

I must say I really enjoyed that part of the process...we did ours almost two weeks ago now...so we are about 3-4 weeks away from our album and DVD...maybe this isn't the worse waiting period...but I guess I am just really anxious to get my paws on those pics :-) Good Luck at your layout session - you're going to have a blast!

We went today for our album and it looks really good!  Nicole did a really good job.  When we got there she was emailing someone about black and white photos on the cd - was that you? lol.

So she said she would send it to print and it would take two weeks then we come in and approve them.  Once approved it takes 4-5 weeks to bind them! So seven weeks before I get the disc, it's already been 7 weeks since we were married .  That is crazy!   I complained (a little) and she said she would see what she can do about getting the disc to us sooner but can't promise anything.  In all honesty, no matter how the pictures look, I don't think I will recommend them to anyone - I don't know, I think I am just in a bad mood.  There have been a few things that have bothered me with dealing with them.  She mentioned "oh we are making a second album as a sample and giving it to pier 5"- I thought this was a little strange because they didn't ask us and we have no say in what pictures they are going to use.  I guess I feel like I paid for them, they are my pictures so I should have a say.  DH tells me to be flattered that they want to advertise using our pictures.  I guess I am a little annoyed and just venting..... lol!

What wasn't so funny is that they want to charge us $1 per image on the disc!!! I was not a happy camper, let me tell you! So, we had over 2,000 images...are they serious? Even if we just selected our very favorites, it would still be another $50-100 or more bucks...really?? Everyone I that I know has told me their photographer gave them b/w images for free...so this, after we paid a lot of money (we got the "Tiara" package) for their services is very distasteful to us...

Like you, we are also leaning towards not recommending them. For reasons that I already mentioned (plus our photographer seemed a little lazy to me...he didn't seem to want to go the extra mile for great shots...so we settled for a lot of "good" shots, that could have been better), but largely because the process just seems so heavy and too long. We debated Perskie vs. a smaller, independant photographer like Jenni, and in the end Perskie's albums and extras won out...but in hindsight? Maybe we make a different choice...oh well...it's done now, right?  :-)

And I do understand what you mean about the "second" album...while on the one hand, it is flattering that they want to use your photos for advertising, it would bother me a bit that they would do it without your permission - and also without your having a say in the pictures selected. I know that I had some that I just didn't care for as much as others, so that might make me a little nervous as well. But overall, from what I could tell, your photos were very beautiful, so you shouldn't have too much to worry about there!! 

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just get our disc while we waited for them???

Oh - and I agree with your other concern - you did pay for the pictures...I would think that they would have checked with you before deciding to make the album for Pier 5...yeah, a lot of things about them haven't impressed me after the fact...good luck!!
