Bridesmaid Gifts

I'm STUCK!  I feel like I've looked at every possible idea that googling "bridesmaid gifts" will give me!

So help me out, please   What are you getting your girls?

I was thinking about buying them really nice make up, like the Laura Mercier tinted moisterizer, Benefit bronzer, a nice set of eyeshadows . . . Sephora and even Gilt Groupe has really good deals on make-up from time to time.  Maybe a decent make-up bag to put it all in.

I was also thinking about getting them Victoria's Secret's Long Jane PJS, which are on sale right now (better selection online than the catalog), but that wouldn't be all that fitting for the end of summer.

I am considering giving a coach purse or coach wallet with a giftcard inside or a Tiffany necklace.
Ditto on the bathwrap.  I just got my first bathwrap for christmas and i LOVE it!

I think it depends on 1. your budget and 2. your number of BMs.  A  lot of people do jewelry for their girls to wear day-of, every wedding I've been in, that's what I've gotten as my gift.  Funny, though, that was the one thing I didn't want to give my girls (probably because they all already most likely have at least a fake strand of pearls).   

My mom had a cool idea also of going to a pottery place, like Amazing Glaze or something, and making pottery pieces for the BMs.  Idk though... I don't think I'm feeling that.  But some people would be really into it!  You definitely have to take into consideration yourself/your girls. 

I am actually thinking of doing the bath wrap   So I'm glad you girls like it.  I think it will be fun for us all to wear them day-of while geting our makeup done/getting ready.  I am kind of upset because as of right now it looks like we're going to the salon to have our hair done so we won't be able to wear them while getting hair done, but I might get them tee shirts that say "bridesmaid" on them to wear (or shorts or who knows).

You don't have to get the same gift for everybody, if you're having trouble finding something they would all like.  I've heard one good suggestion is to think of something you would get them as a birthday present.

I ordered pink pearl necklaces for them on Overstock, and they loved them.  It wasn't something I expected them to wear at the wedding, but I knew they would all wear them other times.  I also gave them a frame that held 4 pictures, and put in 3 pictures from different fun times in our friendship and left the 4th one blank so they could put a picture from the wedding.  I wrote really nice notes in cards for them, and it was a big hit!

I agree with Tree - think of these thank you gifts as separate birthday presents.  I kept reminding myself of that throughout the process and was able to come up with things that my girls loved.  I got them all some kind of slippers (but different for their tastes) and then two got necklaces that I knew they would like, one got a travel makeup bag and a winter hat (she loves loves loves hats), one got a tiffany's address book and I got my sister (MOH) a gift certificate to get a couple of massages - she was thrilled.  In the end, the only thing that was similar was that I got everyone gift certificates to their nails done the day before.

Don't know if this helps, but I'm giving my posse a gift box containing
- a cashmere scarf in one of the wedding colors (purple, hot pink or lime green)
- a handmade cosmetics bag from etsy in a custom fabric I chose for each, with
- mini-sized shower gel, lotion, and a bath pearl from www.MermaidsBath.com, in custom scents I chose for each
- a picture frame

I did some pampering for us all - manis and pedis the day before the wedding with mimosas and scones/danishes/muffins.  It was so nice ot take the time to do something with them that was relaxing before the wedding.

Then on the bouquet handles I purchased different vintage brooches for each girl.  They can take them off and pin them on a sweater or a jacket.  Everyone loved them!

I am giving monogrammed filled totes for all five girls that contain different items based on what they like:

They all have:
Flip flops
Cosmetic bags filled with sephora and Mac gloss or eyeshadow
Personalized mugs filled with their treat of preference ( vista  had free personalized mugs)
Personlaized stationary ( notebook, ink pen, note pads)
victoria secret body splash /lotion
A tiny teddybear holding a heart which has a slit in the heart to hold a personal note from me.
Makeup compact mirror with name on front.

They will get totes at rehersal dinner
Day of wedding...Jewelry for wedding day
