New to the board and want to introduce myself...

Hi everyone,

I have posted several times on here asking for everyones help, and I want to thank everyone who has responded. I can't tell you how helpful you all have been.

Today I have taken the time to review the board and all of everyone's post, and I realized how personable this board is. I wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Christina and I am getting married on Oct. 1, 2011 at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. I live in Anne Arundel County and I am ecstatic knowing that I will be marrying my best friend in less than a year.

I have my venue and photographer picked out, but I am still searching franticly. I am now a year away and I am worried that I am far behind with having my vendors picked out.

I am looking for the following...

make-up and hair
Bridal shop to get my dress
videographer
DJ

Well that is it for now. It was nice to chat. Thanks :) Christina

You're fine with regards to your timing booking vendors. We didn't book hair and makeup and dj and photographer and flowers until 6 months before our wedding. We ended up using a lot of people recommended off the boards.

Hi and Welcome! As Iamsteph said don't worry about your timing. you are pretty on schedule. you have one of the main things chosen which is the venue. The next thing i would worry about is finding an Officiant to perform your ceremony. Those are the 2 most important vendors that without there wouldnt be a wedding. You have plenty of time to figure everything else out. Another thing is figuring out your budget and guest list. If you need anything just let us know!!!!!!! Good luck and happy planning!

You've already chosen the vendors that book furthest in advance, assuming you've included caterer.  Don't stress yourself out about timeline right now for the rest.  A wedding can be planned in under a year.

You're definitely not behind, though I know the feeling.  One year out from my wedding, I already had nearly all of my vendors booked b/c I'm just neurotic like that. :-)

If you're looking for recs - I highly recommend Baltimore Bridal Hair and Baltimore Bridal Makeup.  These girls were probably my favorite two vendors.  They made me look amazing, and helped keep me calm on the wedding day.  I can't say enough good things about them.

    Thanks so much ladies!

I am really trying to find a good DJ. The music makes or breaks a wedding, so I am not worried about cost. I am more concerned with a DJ who knows what he is doing and really knows how to get the party started and keep the party going! Let me know if you have any recommendations :)

    Thanks!

You want a good DJ...contact the PROS and ask for either Ed Jackson or Chris Roorda...they are both GREAT!!!!
